The bulb is actually coated with a white film...but it's shiny so be aware. The picture looks like it's a dull, matte, milky finish which is what I wanted, but in reality these white globe bulbs are shiney...which is not a deal breaker. They all fit well and worked well. I moved into a house that had chandeliers with yellow-tinted bulbs. I have difficulty seeing in a dimmed atmosphere or at night. I bought these bulbs and switched out the others. These have been in my breakfast room light fixture for several weeks, and I am pleased. They are a nice white without having too much glare. Too soon to know their longevity, but I assume they will last as well as any LED bulb.

Bought 12 of these back in Jan '24. I've cycled through all of them since then (i.e., I did not install all of them when I got them; waited until the previous bulbs died). I have 3 ceiling fans with 4 globes each that use these, and in that time, I am down to 4 working bulbs and facing another re-order not because I've finally installed all 12 bulbs and want backups on the shelf, but because 8 of those bulbs are now already dead (exhibiting very dim lighting). As psycho as it sounds, I write the install date on the bulb so I can remind myself how lousy some things are these days. LED bulbs, in general, seem to be trash purchases from my experience, but seeing that I can't even get a year's worth of life from these bulbs would suggest they are not a good purchase. Notably, when they do work, the color output is great and I'm agnostic to the bulb look/style as long as they light up the room. But at this point, with the bulbs being about $4/ea and needing 4 per fan, spending $16/fan annually for a bulb that's supposed to last several years feels like a rip. ... show more

These were purchased for a sputnik style hanging light. They fit perfectly and work smoothly with the dimmer switch. Highly recommended for all sputnik lights or any other light where the light also acts as a light globe.
