But if you are carrying a lot of items, or need to stand on it for long periods you'll definitely want a full ladder. I have put this in my vacation cabin as the ladder to the loft sleeping area. It is nice because it does not take up floor space and is easily moved. However, it is a bit bouncy in that the up and down supports are a bit flexible and I do not even have it all the way extended.
