The plates do not stay hooked and will fall on your food. The bottom plate does not stay in place at all. Plates are very light and flimsy. I can return the item but I have to drive at least an hour to a UPS for a free return. My towns UPS drop box is not big enough for the package to fit.

Every household has a waffle iron nowadays. They used to just be in hotel lobbies years ago, but since the price has come down over the years, these have become pretty much a staple in every household. They are so easy and fun to use, and even kids can use them safely. Most waffle makers are pretty much the same. In a nutshell, the metal plates heat up, you pour about a half to three-quarters of a cup of batter into the bottom metal plate. Then you close the lid, and then turn the plates over so they stay locked while the batter is cooked. This OKYUK waffle maker is a step up from the run of the mill waffle maker. First, this is not just a waffle maker. It actually has the functionality to do a multitude of things. Of course it makes waffles, but it makes 2 WAFFLES at a time. It can also roast nuts, bake donuts, grill paninis or make grilled cheese, and it can even grill steak! This waffle iron makes waffles measuring 9 x 9. I can’t reiterate how nice it is to be able to make 2 waffles at a time instead of just one. Another great feature is that the cooking plates are interchangeable. Simply slide the button on the inner plate to remove the plate that is attached, and then simply click in the desired plate depending on what you are wanting to make. Plus, since the metal plates are removeable, that makes them easy to clean. The last item I want to mention is the temperature control ability of this waffle maker. Since it can do so many things, you need to be able to use the correct temperature for what you want to do. The temperature dial is on the top of the lid and can be adjusted from 210 degrees to 450 degrees. The only thing I wish was different on this waffle maker is that there would be temperatures on the cooking dial, instead of just being low to high. Overall though this is probably my favorite kitchen appliance outside of my coffee maker. I have been wanting a waffle maker for so long but never got one because I was always so picky about which one to choose. This one sold me because I can also make grilled cheese sandwiches and steak in it. I love that it comes with different plates you can easily swap out. It’s much more compact than I expected, which is a huge plus since I have very limited kitchen space. We used it to make strawberry waffles using pancake mix, and at first, they were still mushy on medium heat, so I recommend turning it all the way up and keeping an eye on it to get that perfect crisp. I also didn’t add any eggs, which could have affected the texture. It’s super easy to clean and heats up quickly. I mainly got it to make croffles and can’t wait to try that next. It works well enough and the grill quality is not bad as long as you grease it up so it doesnt burn.Overall, the price is fair considering the versatility with the interchangeable plates, though when we first used it without butter or oil, it did have a strong burnt smell at the beginning. That was the only downside.

Smaller than it looks, plates are cheaply made. Took a while to heat up, did not heat evenly. Ended up going to Target to get a name brand item that cost more, but lesson learned.

Got this little guy from the vine program not expecting it to be as small as it is. It reminds me of my toy ovens when I was a kid. The plates can be changed out for different needs and are made out of a very light cast aluminum. We've used it a couple of times to make grilled rueben sandwiches and it worked but took a little longer than I'd hoped. It worked a little better for reheating grilled sandwiches a different day. For small snacks, if you have the extra space to store it, I could see a practical use for it. I don't see it being used for much more than that, though.

This is a great house hold appliance! Even great for college students and small spaces. It does so many things! From actual waffles, to donuts, Madeline cookies and grilling steaks all in this one device! I think other than the waffles, making grilled cheeses on this is my favorite. I love how easy it is to remove and replace the plates. However, the temperature setting could be immensely better. Something with an actual temperature guide. How do I know, unless through trial and error, what temperature is good for each type of setting. I don't want to burn the Madeline cookies!
