These blanks are not perfect for me because I had to copy a copy. My1st generation copy is the only key I have left for my 2005 Silverado. Originals have been lost. I can just stab and turn it. With these new ones, I must leave a little bit of the shaft showing for the key to turn. If I’d had an original one to copy, the story might be better. I’m glad I got these to use, because the small town parts store I went to, did not have a proper blank to use. I had already gone there and had bought two copies for $2 apiece. I tried them in the truck and had to try forever it seemed to get them to work. They did, but not good enough for me to trust them. I took these new OEM NOS blanks back to the same store and had much better results with my copies of a copy this time. I now have 3 dependable keys for my truck. Anyone looking for the correct blank key for an older non-chipped GM/Chevrolet key, here it is at a good price. If I had been able to just stab and turn my new keys, the rating would have been 5 stars for sure. It’s not really the key blank’s fault, but my family’s for losing the originals. Every time a copy is made from a copy (of anything) it loses some more originality. I’m glad I got these, but I hoped they would have been exactly the same length and width as my 1st generation copy. They’re just about 1/8” longer than it. But, I don’t think anything else could have been better than these for me. ... show more

Bought these to have some spares for my sons 2004 1500 silverado. Took to a local locksmith to have key cut (our walmart, lowes, ect would not cut it). They charged $9/key to cut it. So roughly $33 for both keys after purchasing and having cut. The local shop had the same key blanks for $10 each. They do not charge a cutting fee when you purchase the key from them. So I spent $13 more by purchasing on Amazon. The quality is good, no complaints on the key itself. Recommend pricing the keys from a local shop before buying tho. ... show more
