Description

This USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter lets you add two independent HDMI displays to your computer using a single USB 3.0 port. One of the HDMI ports can output resolutions up to 4K, while the other can output resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. Adding more displays to your workstation can be difficult, especially if your computer does not support MST or offer many external video ports. This USB to dual HDMI adapter features two video outputs, boosting your productivity by giving you more screen space to work from. One of the ports on this USB video adapter supports resolutions up to 4K at 30Hz, enabling you to connect a 4K monitor to your computer, even if your laptop or desktop video card doesn’t natively support 4K output. The USB to HDMI 4K adapter lets you extend or mirror your primary display onto an Ultra HD monitor or television. Using the high-bandwidth USB 3.0 interface, this USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter enables smoother scrolling through documents, higher resolutions and better overall performance than earlier USB adapters. This USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter is backed by 3-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Perfect Solution for Dell Inspiron Capped at 1080p!
Style: Windows Only
Review Image by meesterjec
Review Image by meesterjec
This USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter let me successfully use my Dell Inspiron 15 3530 (plastic chassis model capped at 1080p) at 2k and 4k. I believe this adapter works given that it uses its own external graphics driver ("Connected to Trigger 6 External Graphics") and therefore not reliant on the PC's limitations. To give some background, it was apparent that this Dell 3530 was limited to 1080p from some hardware limitations and its typical display ports based on the official tech specs below: -USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port (for computers shipped with a plastic chassis) -HDMI 1.4 (Maximum resolution supported over HDMI is 1920x1080 @60Hz. No 4K/2K output) Before this adapter, 1080p via native HDMI was both grainy and stretched. Not good for productivity or the eyes. Given that HDMI was capped at 1080p and the USB-C port did not include DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4, my options were to buy a new laptop, settle for an inferior display at 1080p, or find a workaround solution. From some online searches, a potential workaround solution was in the form of a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter which led me to this product. While using an older USB-A port seemed counterintuitive at first, this was a successful solution. Although it took a minute, installation was plug and play, and my PC detected both 2k ultra-wide and 4k wide displays tested without the need to download or update any drivers. The dual monitor feature also works well, though I had to first connect my 2k monitor to the 4k display slot to maintain its ultra-wide fidelity, then connect my 4k TV to the 1k display slot (displaying at 1k). The 1k was slightly over scanned while using dual displays, though this is hardly an inconvenience overall when my main intent is to use my PC with a single ultra-wide monitor. The resolution displayed is crisp and smooth. The adapter itself is lightweight plastic and appears well-built, though time will tell on its long-term reliability. Hardware used and tested: PC: Dell Inspiron 15 3530 (max 1920x1080 at 60Hz) Display adapter (this product): StarTech USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter, USB to 2x HDMI Monitor Converter 2k display: Samsung Ultra-Wide HD LS34C650TANXGO monitor (3440x1440 at 50hz) 4k display: Samsung 55" UN55MU6290 TV (3840x2160 at 30hz) ... show more

Works great
Style: Windows Only
Fantastic usb to dual HDMI adapter. This is my 2nd startech usb to HDMI adapter and I wish I had seen this dual port one first. I originally tried a generic adapter that had extreme lag and refresh rate issues. Paying more is defnitely worth it and StarTech is a solid brand. Plug and play installation with both of the 1080p monitors picking it up right away. No lag or refresh issues. One downside is streaming platforms limit quality as it lacks the DRM check they use to prevent quality. That is pretty standard for USB to HDMI adapters from what I've seen. This adapter has worked great and its a good brand for quality. Easy recommendation. ... show more

Get a better quality dongle
Style: Windows Only
Works when it wants to.... I bought this because my old laptop doesn't support video through its USB-C port, and i needed extra monitors without having to upgrade my laptop yet. When i first hooked it up, it worked fine for the first day, and let me connect the two extra monitors no problem. The next day, After working for a few hours (i do graphic design work on the side) the computer would freeze, and i had no control for a few seconds, and then it would do the jingle as if i unplugged something, the monitors would go black, and i would only have my laptop screen. After a few more seconds, it would do the jingle a if i plugged something in and then it would go back to having my screens again. It did this multiple times, randomly. I adjusted my USB settings so that my computer wouldn't put it to sleep, but it would still do it. Annoying but i delt with it. I Don't have any other options (other than getting a new laptop or dongle to do this). But today was the reason i wrote the review: I booted up my laptop and i heard the jingle that my screens were connecting, but both the externals were black, and my mouse wouldn't go up "into the screen", as if they weren't there. I checked the USB and made sure it was connected right, and when i unplugged it, it jingled, froze my laptop as if i was disconnecting the monitors, and then went to normal. When i plugged it back in, Jingled again (which makes it seem like it recognizes that its there,) but all black. All the trouble shooting i did, didn't to anything and after a while i gave up. It seems like after a day or two the dongle decided that it cant handle what it was made to do. extremely disappointed. ... show more
