Very sturdy! this is definitely a quality item. My cat is a jumper, and this is high enough that it keeps the cat out of the intended room. fits my standard door frame perfectly, comes with extra pieces for wider doorframes. also comes with little 'ramps' to put under bottom bar so wheelchairs or rolling walkers can get over it more easily. Takes a bit to assemble, but not difficult at all.

This gate does exactly what it advertises; keeps cats out. It is easy to install and most importantly, the bars are close enough together to prevent even kittens from passing through. If a cat can stick their head through the bars, they can fit their bodies through and this gate definitely prevents it. Additionally, my cats are jumpers and this gate is high enough to deter jumpers and doesn't have any horizontal surfaces to allow for them to climb over. Finally, this gate auto-closes and locks in place. This gate is a little more expensive but you easily get what you pay for. I highly recommend this gate.

As it is perfect for my application, there really are no cons. I need something to keep my dog in the room away from the other animals when I am gone. She can jump, but not this high. Making it perfect as far as height. Installation was a breeze, the locking mechanism is great and fairly low friction meaning the gate should operate as intended for a long period of time. And it is sturdy and well built.

This tall cat gate is exceptional. I recently rescued a cat and needed to keep him separated from my other indoor cats and kittens. The gate I used previously was too short. My adult cats could jump over it and the spacing between the bars was too wide that the kittens could get through. With the height of this one and the narrower spacing between the bars, I have finally found one that works for me. It is also very easy to set up. Great gate. Don’t hesitate to purchase.

I sometimes foster kittens and wanted a way to allow them to have the run of 3 rooms that are off one hallway, while keeping them corralled in a limited area. This is perfect for that...the bars are close enough that only the tiniest kitten could get through, and tall enough that they can't jump over it. I assume it would be great for smaller dogs as well. Although there were very limited instructions, it was still very easy to install. It came with extra pieces that make it adaptable to different door or hallway widths, which I did need. It is very secure and will be a great benefit to me. It will give the kittens I foster more freedom to explore part of the house instead of being cooped up in one room. After looking at other similar gates, I found that this one was the most competitively priced.

We have 4 cats and a room with a small aviary with parakeets. Two of the cats are recent arrivals - kittens - and the regular, tall gate we used to cordon off the birds was useless with these two. I bought this one, with high hopes, and am mostly pleased with it. One of our kitties - an Abyssinian - could probably clear the roof of our house, so I had to add another level of fencing on top of this one. For the rest of the "normal" cats, this is a perfect solution. They can't get through the slats, and there's nothing to grip onto in order to climb over it. My only issue with the gate is the latch takes a bit of muscle to pull it up. We have 3 other, smaller gates, and this is most fussy to open. Otherwise, it's solid, was easy to install, love the added base pieces, and includes all the expansion pieces.
