I bought it for washing my car, the red scratches quickly on the concrete, but that's only an appearance thing. I was actually hoping it would be similar to the 100% rubber hose Craftsman use to make, but it's not near that thick.

I love the bright red color of this hose! It is heavy and a bitdifficult for me to maneuver, but doesn't kink. It does twist a bit and sometimes I have to stretch it all the way out to make it easier to work with. It seems to be very high quality! I only have a small front yard and have tried several lightweight hoses, but they never last more than a few months. This hose seems like it will last years!

Update: After using these hoses all summer long, we're sold. In reality, they're lighter than the typical poly hoses and, you guessed it, never kink! Their flexibility makes them so easy to move around compared to the stiff poly hoses. Because they don't kink, they don't develop pinch points like the poly hoses that inevitably burst at the pinch spot. Although the red hose faded in this summer's blazing sun, it doesn't appear to have affected its overall integrity whatsoever. We're buying more NOW before they stock out forever. Whoa, what a nice garden hose. After replacing junk hoses year in and year out, we finally decided to pay up for a rubber hose similar to those of days gone by. Similar in that it's smooth instead of vertically grooved like those USA made hoses from the past. These are a huge improvement over the poly hoses! These hoses might be heavier than the poly stuff, but they're more pliable and easier to move around the property. They also don't kink like the 'never-kink' poly hoses, which always kink, pinch and burst. We'll keep our fingers crossed that this hose will last at least as long as some of the better poly hoses (@3 yrs) and hope for even longer. We bought 2 hoses - 75' and 90'. If they survive our -40F winter, then we'll buy more replacements next spring.
