This is far the best desk chair I have ever owned. The soft comfort and leather cushion is so relaxing. I spend many hours at my desk and my legs and back do not hurt me when I am done for the day. It reclines nicely. I weigh 231 pounds not close to 500 but this chair is strong enough for anyone heavier. I am not a tall man so I have to set the seat height to its lowest setting but it will accommodate someone six foot or more. With the adjustment for your back it gives very good support. This is the most comfortable chair. It is oversized and meant for a bit taller and wider person than I am but it is so sturdy and deluxe. This would fit a "big and tall" person quite well! I needed a comfortable chair to sit in for long periods to my new hobby. I also needed the arm to go up and out of the way for certain tasks but did not want a stool. The arms are also nicely padded. They can extend forward and can be adjusted to be higher or lower. Many options for the arms. The wheels are also an upgrade from the normal chair wheels. They are like a softer rubber wheel which I think will be very hard wood floor friendly. Assembly was quite easy. The wheels just pop in, and a few screws to put the arms and the back on the chair on. ... show more

.... you are taller than 5'9". I was able to assembly this chair in less than a half hour, no issues there as the instructions are pretty clear. The chair's lowest height will keep your feet in the air if you're not at least 5'10". The buttons on the sides of the arm rests allow you to adjust and lock their height. You can slide the arm cushions back and forth as well and you can also lift the whole arm-rest parking them behind you. The lumbar support adjustment is helpful and the seat and back cushions are on the firm side, made for heavy people. I am not heavy so these cushions don't give much at all, no sinking in the chair. Maybe if you're at least 190lb there will be some give, idk. Great chair overall, taller than expected but it works. Now lets see how long the 'leather' looking material will last, one other chair I owned started to flake all over the place, hopefully this one won't. ... show more

Update: I may have been a bit too critical with 3 stars I'll bump it up to 4 since honestly the only fault is the backrest which I thought was taller. So, I've had the chair for about a week. Seat is nice and comfortable with the width and depth this has been one of the greatest comforts. The cushioning on the seat is superb. The only problem I have is the backrest is a bit short I'm not sure if that's an ergo feature but whatever it's a whole head short. I'm not that tall usually 5'11, 5'10 and a half on a good day. Sadly, with scoliosis I can never find any chair with good upper back support. This one is pretty good just as mentioned the backrest is short if I sit perfectly at the back of the seat with my back straight the backrest ends at my shoulders. With that my neck and head are not supported. Don't know if that's a good thing just yet as my sitting posture has always been horrible. I'll leave it at 3 stars for now since you'd expect a high backrest on a big and tall chair. I may be wrong and just have to get accustomed to it. ... show more

So its big. Really big. It is comfy and has great lower back support. Like this chair was made for people that weigh way over 300 lbs or people over 6 ft. I'm just shy of 6 feet and my feet barely touch the ground on the lowest height setting My biggest problem with it is that there is play in the locking function for the tilt. So when the lock is engaged, there is still the slightest of tilt back that bothers me.
