We have an old wooden creaky two step ladder that scares me every time anyone in the house uses it. I was cautiously excited to order this ladder so that I’d be able to encourage its use over the old one, but at the same time I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, since there weren’t many pictures of it. Well, it has arrived and I am NOT disappointed. The ladder not only looks good (all shiny, new and red), it’s strong and sturdy and...well, all things a ladder should be. It locks securely so that it stays open until you unlock it (already a huge safety improvement over our old one...ya, it’s THAT old), it has little rubber feet so no worries about it slipping. The steps are wide (oh, so wide...SO much more room for feet) and it folds up to almost nothing so we can place it somewhere convenient where it can easily be chosen over the old creaky ladder...which may be recategorized as a relic soon...I hope. Definite recommend!

This 2-step stool came pre-assembled and easily folded out. My first impression was that the legs felt secure and heavy duty. I like that there is good rubber padding on the feet so that it won't scratch indoor flooring. I found that I felt secure when standing on either step, though I did notice a little flex to the sheet metal of the steps. Slightly thicker metal in the steps would have given a more confident feeling, but I'm not worried about it being a practical issue. Those with stability/mobility issues may be more sensitive to this. At my weight below 180 lbs, I feel comfortable using this. I find that the steps are large enough and that the legs feel secure. This stool was also easy to move by just grabbing under the hinges, where there are no sharp parts. The red and overall design looked better in person than I expected. It can be kind of a statement piece and fit in with interior decor. I'm happy with how this looks sitting by a kitchen wall.

For me, and the price, this stool was a great deal. My closet is small, so I had to use all of the vertical space I could get. But every time I needed something from up high, I had to run around the house looking for our other stool that someone else had used and left out of place. This one is hefty enough to feel strong, but closes up enough to feel compact. It's very sturdy and doesn't have any wobble, and though red wouldn't have been my first choice, it turned out to be a good thing. It's hard to miss that bright red, so it's super easy to find in a crowded mess. The 2-step version is just high enough for my closet needs, and takes up less space than the 3-step version would have.

I love the look of this compact little ladder. The finish has an interesting texture, which I assume is the anti-slip coating, and it gives it a quality feel. It folds up neatly, mine fits perfectly between the stove and cabinet, though that may vary depending on your kitchen. The folded dimensions are very narrow, making it easy to store. It’s also lightweight, simple to carry, and folds out and back up with ease. A great little addition for reaching high shelves or swapping out light bulbs.

While I like the Ladder Folding 2 - Step model I am concerned that it is not as strong as the listing says. I weigh 245 lbs and the step flexes enough that I will not use this ladder. It is rated for 330 lbs which I think is wishful thinking. Plastic hinges and the flex make me think it might be good for under 200 lbs if you are careful.

This ladder is heavier than I expected, but once I used it, I got why. It’s really sturdy. I’m over 200 pounds and it didn’t flex or wobble at all. The steel frame feels solid and the anti-slip feet actually work like, it doesn’t budge when you’re on it. I’ve used it in the kitchen and garage and it feels safe every time. The steps are wide and grippy, which I like because I hate feeling like I’m about to fall off stuff. It folds up pretty easily too, so I just lean it in the corner when I’m done. It’s not the lightest ladder to carry around, but if you want something dependable that doesn’t feel flimsy, this is a good pick. Definitely worth it for the sturdiness alone.

There are no instructions, but easy to operate. Open by pulling apart at the bottom. Close by lifting up the top step. Red ladder is easy to find (pro). Red ladder does not blend in (con). Would not use if you are unstable on your feet as there is no where to hold onto with your hands. Slim profile stores easily. Supported 115lbs without issue.
