I have a registry (vent) right next to the dining room table and my kids have a habit of dropping food onto the floor that ends up in the vent. This keeps it out and makes cleaning that area easy. I even got one for an overhead vent in the basement bathroom that is suspected to have occasional spiders crawl through--I haven't see any spiders in the bathroom in awhile, so it works very well. The magnet is strong enough seems to last a long time. The mesh still allows for great air flow.

I expected this to cover the vent completely, but it does not have enough groove to cover vent knob. So it still has the airgap. It is just a plain sheet with adhesive magnetic strip on edges. Not worth the price.
