I've tried quite a few air stylers but this is the first flex style that I've tried. I haven't tried the much pricier name brand version to compare this one to, but this air styler checked every box that I look for. It did take me a bit to figure out how to rotate it but once you get it the first time, you won't have any issues doing it going forward. This allows you to blow dry and use the brushes with a locked in 90 degree angle but you can also use the brushes at other angles as needed, they just don't lock into that adjustment. You will need to rough dry your hair about 80% because using the styling attachments. The brush and barrels attachments lock and unlock easily (just make sure you pay attention to the line up arrows). With the exception of the barrels, you're able to remove the attachments without a heat glove if you are careful on where you position your hand. If you don't have a heat glove, the barrels can be removed by hand if you use use the cool shot option long enough for the barrel to cool completely. There are a lot of air stylers that have round and paddle brushes but a lot fail because the bristles aren't made to hold the hair in while you have air blowing. These brushes have boar/boar-like bristles along with the plastic bristles to combat this issue. It gave enough grip to keep my hair in the brush but was gentle enough to make sure it didn't pull or tangle my hair in it. The barrels or air stylers never cease to amaze me. The wind power of this one does seem to be more powerful than others I have tried. The higher power for the barrels just means that it allows it to take larger sections than the weaker ones. Since it handles drying and styling, I rarely find myself needing my flat iron or other curling irons which also means I'm not overexposing it to extra heat or hair products.

This is truly an all-in-one tool. I wanted to try the name-brand version of this but got scared of the price. This is the perfect alternative. The price tag is so much better. It is lightweight in your hand and has strong power behind it. You can change the level of speed and the temperature right on the dryer, along with the on/off switch. It twists and turns into a traditional blow dryer or you can use it upright for a blow out brush or curler. I like to use the curling attachments (shown in the picture). It comes with 5 attachments all together - 2 round brushes, a concentrator, and 2 (one left/one right) curl wrap attachments. This product really does dry hair quickly and I like it a lot. As a tip for any user, I will say that if you're using the curling attachment, you have to do a cool shot before turning off the air so that it locks the hair in place. I've tried using it without the cool shot and just using hairspray and the curl doesn't hold up as well. That is true with ANY of these curl air wrap type products, no matter how expensive. This is my new hair staple for quick and easy styles!

I've never tried a Dyson AirWrap, but I do have the Shark FlexStyle. I actually bought my FlexStyle a week before I found this hair styler. Considering it is significantly cheaper, I decided to get it to try and figure out if I thought the FlexStyle was worth keeping for the price. If you want a TLDR: This hair styler is basically the same as the shark, and if you do not care about a brand name, get it! Compared to the shark, this one does come with fewer attachments. It doesn't look like there is an option to buy additional attachments as there is with the shark but I would imagine you can find some aftermarket attachments that do fit this hair styler, just made by a different brand. They are both the same size but the GLAMUP styler is lighter than the Shark. I prefer the lightweight because I have a LOT of hair and it's tiring to hold it up for a long period. The GLAMUP styler feels like it gets hotter on the highest setting, which could be a plus or a negative for you. I feel the highest setting is too hot so I use the medium heat setting. Both styles have a "cool shot" function which helps set your curls. Both styler have similar size barrels but the GLAMUP styler seems to catch my hair easier when using the curling barrel. They both have the same look and overall feel, with the GLAMUP styler feeling a little more "cheap." Although that's understandable considering it is half the price. The "cheaper" feel doesn't affect the quality of the hair styling it gives me. When comparing both side to side, I couldn't tell you the difference in curls. I like to imagine the Shark is probably less damaging but if you are using heat styling responsibly with the correct protectants, you will not notice a difference. That being said, I returned my Shark FlexStyle and kept the GLAMUP styler. It comes with the attachments I used on the Shark and I don't feel guilty anymore for not using a the Shark as much as I should've considering the price. This is well worth it in my honest opinion.
