    • Great Camera System!
Here is my honest review. OOSSXX is one truly great camera system! I'm no camera expert. I have not used too many camera systems to give you expert reviews, but as a user, I have used and returned a few sd card-type cameras. Those sd cameras are no comparison to this one. The sd card cameras are not reliable and they're not cheap either. I have replaced a few 64Gb sd cards, those cards only last a few months especially when you put your camera outdoors that is exposed to heat and cold weather, they just don't last. A lot of times when you want to check your recorded videos, you found out the sd card had failed to record. I pulled my hair a few times enough to make me bald. Pros: Here is what OOSSXX amazed me. 1). Clear pictures. Because of the large size hard drive, the cameras are able to record high-def videos. (2880 x 1620) with no problem. I think the system default to record 24-7, but I prefer to record only on motion. Changing it was easy. I can change one camera and then apply the same setting to all cameras. 2). 10 channels, I don't need 16 cameras. I need exactly 10. Most of the camera system supports 8, 16, 32 channels, etc… and I just can't find a 16 channels system that sold with 8 or 10 cameras. This system supports 8 + 2, so it is perfect for my need. 3). AI Playback and human detection. This is my favorite feature. AI Playback crops and shows me only human body playback, so I don't need to keep searching thru every motion and eliminate birds, cats, and bugs and only look at humans passing thru the cameras. It makes searching so much easier. 4). Fast-loading application on both PC and Android / iPhone apps. The app loads so much quicker than the other brand I used before. There are more functions as well. I'm not sure why the 2 stars on the Apple store and 2.4 stars on google play… I'm crossing my finger I don't run into hassle later, but so far I like the app. 5). Metal cameras and metal aluminum junction boxes. Compared to the old flimsy plastic cameras I used, OOSSXX uses metal frames. I feel like they're durable. I'm not sure. I might update as time goes by. I like the junction box, I bought a plastic one and returned it immediately. I didn’t like it. OOSSXX material looks and feels durable. 6). Night vision is definitely brighter than what I get on my other sd card-type cameras. Cons: My only complaint so far is 1.) There's only one USB port, and when a USB mouse is occupied there's no room for a backup drive or a keyboard… maybe a USB hub will work. I haven't tried it yet. 2.) The "View" button (switching 1 to 4 to 9 screens view etc) on the remote, sometimes works and sometimes does not. I have to log in as admin and then come back out for the change view button to work again, it could be a programming bug… 3.) There's no power switch on the NVR, maybe not needed? I just unplug the power, just not sure if it's safe for the HD. However, I'm not sure why there's a power button on the remote as it does not do anything. My guess is this remote is universal for all models and the power button does not apply to my version. ... show more

Overall: Great purchase. I most certainly recommend these cameras to anyone looking for a reliable, robust, and very fairly priced set of security cameras. I purchased these cameras about six months ago. I wanted to replace my old/fancy! SUNBA system. I have to say that was a great replacement. They are MUCH easier to work with. Very user friendly. Literally plug and play! Connections, installation: I have four cameras. The unit covers up to 8 cameras. I am going to purchase another set of 4. They easily connect to Wi-Fi and their coverage is very good. One of the cameras in front of the house is about 150 ft (50 m) away from the main unit and I have never had any issues with the connection. My internet speed is about 250 Mbps. The instruction manual and the videos on the amazon purchase link were very easy to follow. It took me an hour to connect everything, including deciding where to put them. Mounting goes with two easy simple screw on any surface. It is very convenient that cameras are wireless, and you do not need to use long cables to connect them to the main unit. Though you need to find a way to plug them into power. I used low gauge extension wires (16 gauge) to send power to each camera from a nearby outlet. Shopping and delivery: Considering the given quality, I think this product comes at a very reasonable price. There are so many other products on the market with lower camera quality (3 MP) which are at least 50% more expensive. I got them on Amazon prime, received them within a couple of days, in perfect packaging. I did not have any issues with the product and did not need to contact customer services, but I was reading (I studied so many different models!) that they are very helpful if you run into any issues. Quality of image: The image quality (5MP) is very good. I can easily read the license plate of a car in my driveway with the camera in the parking garage, about 150 ft away. The night vision is also very good. The little red light on the camera provides enough background light to see everything within about 50 ft even in the absolute darkness. Sensitivity: You can set the sensitivity of the camera for recording any movements. You may also receive notifications about that. I reduced those to a reasonable amount to show larger objects moving, like humans, rather than the movements of a spider in front of the camera. App: The app is very responsive and easy to work with. If you do not use it for a while and then decide to open it, within a few seconds it connects to the source and gives you live images. For about a month you will have access to the cloud for free. It nicely allows you to go back and watch the movements on the recorded videos for the past few days. You may control it to show you exact minutes and seconds of a day. It highlights when movements have happened, so you do not waste time watching hours and days of recording. After the free trial, you still have full access to the previous recordings, though it does not highlight the recorded movements anymore. You can easily toggle between cameras, double click on one image to make it full screen or just see them all side by side.     • Not even 100' of range. No support Cameras not paired. SO DISAPOINTED

This system is trash. I'm very disappointed. They advertised 300 feet of range, and I have a camera at my front door 75 feet away from the receiver that only works intermittently. and if I put cameras any further than that they don't have a signal at all. So I can only use the cameras mounted on the front of my house, and none of the cameras I put in my back yard work at all. Also the cameras only come with 10' power wires. and this company dose not sell longer ones. The longest power wire I've been able to find is 30'. which limits where the cameras can be put. Also the cameras were supposed to arrive already paired to the receiver. but when I plugged them in they were not paired. And there were no instruction for pairing them. I tried contacting the companies support. But they are impossible to contact. all I could reach was an answering machine. And I got no call back. I had to watch numerous Utube videos to figure out how to pair the cameras. This system is very disappointing. I regret buying it, and I'm going to return it. ... show more

Couldn't get it to pair because they're already mounted by the guy who installed them. Can't climb a ladder. If you get them pair them first lol. Directions weren't clear on that.
