These cameras are great and the price is considerably better than similar products sold at costco or best buy. Setup and installation was easy, the app is extremely handy and allows you to view the camera's live at any time as well as playback footage. The Hiseeu 4 camera system is easy to install and works great. The POE cables are plenty long to reach every corner of our building. Video quality is excellent. We use the app to monitor our community center to make sure there are no issues.

I've bought a couple of other systems on amazon that had a common interface. The Hiseeu system is not like those other systems, the interface is more modern looking and easier to use. You also get a lot of value for the price, and the resolution is excellent. There is also a lot of configurability in the system. The system installed without any issues and worked as soon as the cameras were plugged in. Overall it was easy to setup. The app (Android) is pretty good overall. I've had trouble with other systems taking forever to initialize. This app gets going pretty quickly and reliably. The only negative with the app is the playback interface is hard to use to scan through looking for specific events. There is no jog to jump forward and back a few seconds, and after a while it will lockup sometimes. Also, the scroll bar cannot be zoomed in, so its hard to navigate accurately which can be annoying when you are looking for something specific. You also cannot jump from camera to camera easily in playback mode. It sometimes gets messed up between daylight and standard time, but you can always look at the time on the video to be sure. Overall, the playback part of the app could use some work but at least for real time it is fast and easy to use. Overall, this is the best system I have bought of the three I purchased in the last 10 years. ... show more

NVR JUST FAILED AT AROUND 2.5 YEARS AND ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE. LIGHT SMOKE AND BURNT PLASTIC, LUCKILY I FOUND AND UNPLUGGED. Had this for 2 years now so I am more than familiar with the system. MAJOR Cons -Nobody from HISEEU Customer support cares to help or can understand English well enough to help. - The software to view camera is absolutely awful. *Ads all the time even after turning them off they come back. *Cameras that came with the system will not display in HD while on cell service so they are a blurry mess. The cameras I added display in HD fine so I know it's not on my end. Everything displays in HD while on WiFi. -PTZ function is painfully slow. Cons: -After about 2 months all of the cameras develop a haze at nighttime making them near unsuable. Daytime quality is at best 7/10. -The user interface is not friendly to use. ******STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED HELP ON HOW TO FACTORY RESET THE 5MP POE PTZ CAMERA. IT DOES NOT COME WITH A FACTORY RESET CORD AND I CANT ADD THE CAMERA TO RESET. THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP ON THIS ISSUE. FIND A DIFFERENT NVR SYSTEM!!**** ... show more

Bought this with two additional HiSeeu 5MP PoE dome cameras as a bundle. The bullet cams are decent but could benefit from the use of a gimbal-style mount. The lens affords about 75 degrees of coverage so good for focused areas of coverage. The domes do about 110 degrees so better for close-in spaces like rooms and such. Since they are wide-angle you'll get some perspective effects. The cables that came with the kits are pretty thin (likely low-twist count stranded conductors) and the weather boots are nice. I'm not sure why the cameras have both an Ethernet plug and a power plug when the NVR has PoE. It makes the cabling more messy than it needs to be. I say that they should drop the barrel power stub out and make the cameras PoE-only. The NVR unit is pretty typical, mostly an empty box with a pair of boards and likely running a Hi3536 series SoC. The software on the NVR itself is decent but seems to only support a mouse; no keyboard. That makes data entry a bit of a pain. Client software is more hit-or-miss, and likely more miss than hit. To connect to the NVR on a Windows box you need to use an ActiveX plug-in and IE; that's a dead end and there doesn't seem to be a replacement for that yet. HiSeeU's web site is a confusing mess when it comes to software support. The XMEye app for iOS is serviceable but crashes after running for several hours on your typical iPad. A memory leak, it looks like, because it complains that the device has run out of memory. Restarting the app gives you a few more hours of run time. Overall, the video quality of the system is good. The two-way audio, as run from the XMEye app, works well and has about a 10 foot range from the camera being used as an intercom in most conditions. I still need to dig in and set up detection zones and stuff so can't speak to the quality of that functionality. Hopefully we'll see some better/newer apps from HiSeeU in the near future. The base hardware and NVR are good; they just need to get that last bit of software nailed down. ... show more
