  • Focuway is fabulous
I purchased the Focuway T6 dashcam as a Christmas present to my wife. I installed the camera about two weeks ago and couldn’t have been more pleased. Back to the beginning. I’ve wanted to get a camera for my wife’s car. After numerous weeks of research, I landed on this camera. Not only did I look at reviews, but I was searching for max features. The T6 fit the bill. Opening the box I found a user manual, front camera, rear camera(with wire), reset pin, 64 memory card and a sealed bag with an install tool, and a cigarette lighter adaptor. It was my intention to hardwire the camera into my car, so I didn’t have to take up my cigarette lighter receptacle. Well, the folks at Focuway thought of that too. On the back of the cig adaptor is a port where you could power an item as well. Nice! But since I was still hell bent on hardwiring the unit, I also bought a hardwire kit. So, unless you want to hardwire the camera, everything you need is included in the box. The set up is very easy and I recommend following the instructions in the book. Before I ran my cords throughout the car, I downloaded the app and I used the cig adaptor to power the unit. Once I got that all connected, I disconnected the cig adaptor and started to run the wires. Both cameras offer enough wire to place them where you would like in your vehicle. The small tool used for leveraging trim to tuck the wires was a nice touch. More about the app. I have an IOS phone and had no issues. The only thing I thought was a bit odd was that the camera is a hotspot and when you hook your phone up to it, the recording stops. Not a huge deal since you shouldn’t be driving and looking at your phone anyway. The app is intuitive and easy to operate. You can download video directly from the camera to your phone. Or you can remove the card, put it in a Micro-card reader and download to your computer. Watching the video in the app is a bit deceiving as you’re watching compressed video. But it’s still clear. Once you download it to your phone or computer is VERY clear!!! It came with a 64 card, and I know it can take larger. The camera will record all the time and when it gets full, it will start erasing the oldest stuff first. No worries. There are quite a few features in the app and you can adjust according to your needs. It even has GPOS that shows the path your car has taken (in each video clip). I’ve only had this hooked up in my wife’s car for about two weeks and I really love it. The price was right, and the technology is good to go. I plan on getting three more of these for my other cars. I’m even going to put one in my daughter’s vintage VW. Maybe I’ll do a review on that installation😊 Do yourself a favor and order one for your car! Pros: Price, Technology, and ease of set up Cons: None so far ... show more

  • Easy install, clear image, great price!
I’ve been researching dashcams for quite a while and finally settled on this one. I’m so happy I did! Compared to others, this one has a much larger screen which makes it easy to see using the live view and also for playback viewing. It has a wide lens so I can see all around the front and back of the car. Both the front and rear camera have a really clear image. It makes it easy to review and pick out small details when needed after an incident or just for fun to review the trip. The night vision is great too. It has a nice sharp view, unlike others which are often grainy at night. The installation was super easy and I’ve had no issues with the connection, which has been imperative for capturing comprehensive video/data while driving. The GPS tracking is a nice touch too! I was able to reference the data to avoid a speeding ticket. It has saved me $$$ already! I also appreciate the voice controls because it allows me to operate it while driving without having to look away from road to control with my hands. I haven’t used this feature yet but just knowing I have the option for 24-hour parking monitoring, provides a nice peace of mind for if I ever have to park outside of my garage overnight. The price point was really fair and I’m really happy with all the features, quality and function of this dashcam. Would definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Nice camera, don't use the static sheet
I was rear ended by a guy in a giant pickup truck on the highway back in October last year. My near perfect condition fun-to-drive 2008 low milage Civic Si that I intended to drive until the wheels fell off was totaled. I have a new car now. I purchased this cam for the next time that happens. This is a nice little dual camera system. I installed it the first time about 5 weeks ago, more on this later. It seems to be working as it should and it takes very good video and looks nice in my car, matches / blends into the black interior well. I luv the voice control. It's easy to connect the WIFI but I have to disconnect my phone from the stereo WIFI connection to get it to connect to the cam to view or download videos, not a deal breaker for me. It's easy to setup in the menu, although getting the time set right was a challenge and I had to google it to get the time zone set correctly, tip - if you are in Texas set the time zone to GMT -6:00 and your time will be correct. Back camera works well but lacks the quality and distance for detail that the front camera has (1080p vs 4k). If some one slams into the back of you and they are texting you will see them looking down, for sure. Cameras were easy to install with the exception of mounting the front cam. I wanted to mount the front cam on the windshields dot matrix next to the rearview mirror molding on the drivers side to hide the cam and to possibly give it a little shade for hot summer days (100+ degrees) here in North Texas region. I tried to mount it with the silly clear static film but the static film would not cling to the dot matrix well at all and I was not surprised so I pulled it all loose once it started sagging after maybe 2 minutes of it being there. I pulled the static film loose from the cam mounting base 3M sticky pad. I then reapplied the cam mounting base to the dot matrix without the static film and it held ok until it just got a little warm on the third day (80 degrees, windows up) while I was at work. The 3M sticky pad was done at that point, so I had realized I hated where I had tried to mount it cause I was not able to put up my sun shade so this time I decided to mount it to the plastic molding cover around the base of my rearview mirror mount on the passenger side so now it is completely out of the sun for most of the day. I looked up the best way to mount with the included 3M HFA sticky pad and cleaned everything real good, got the included second mount with sticky 3M pad and applied it to the plastic letting it cure for 24 hours before attaching the camera, then after half of a day in the heat it was done when I came out to go to lunch, cam was hanging by the cables. So when I got home that night, I got out my trusty Scotch double sided foam tape sold everywhere, stuck it to the cam mount, and remounted it again in the same spot on my rearview mirror molding cover and it has not moved since and is nicely shaded and where I have it now I can aim the passenger middle AC vent right up at it to help keep it cool. Also, you can buy more static film sheets and 3M mounting pads that match the original pads pretty well on Amazon if you still want to use it again to remount. The 3M sticky pads are easy to remove from glass or plastic, just use your finger and a little pressure on one of the corners of the 3M pad to roll it up and it comes right off. It comes off of the mounting brackets easy also. The back cam mounted up well and I was able to stick it to the 3rd brake light plastic molding cover at the top of my rear window similar to how I mounted the front cam. I used the sticky pad that was included with the rear cam and it has held up well. The cam is sunk back into the car where the only time it gets direct sun is when the sun is low in the sky and not hot. I purchased the Focuway hardwire kit for this also. It was easy to install and made it nice and neat, no wires running through my car. It was super easy to tuck all the wires so you don't really see any except for the cable in the rear running to the cam from the headliner due to the way I installed the rear cam. The cables on the front cam are only exposed by about 3 inches which I covered with auto wire tubing conduit (1/4 inch, Amazon) which looks pretty good (see pics). I only had to use a small piece I had left over from another project. I will probably purchase and install one of these for my parents also, they are getting older so they need all the protection they can get and they do not currently have a dash cam but they liked this one when they saw it. So, I can say I would recommend this for sure, especially if you are getting it for the lightning sale price of $89, that's a good deal for this. I paid $129 and feel like it was not a bad price for what you get. Wish I had gotten the lightning sale price but I am not mad about it at all. UPDATE July 2024: Went to lunch about 2 weeks ago and the car was very hot when I got in, my car said it was 95 degrees F. I went to a shaded area and parked. I rolled the windows down and left my car radio on which keeps the camera on and after sitting there for about 5 minutes the camera started rebooting over and over. I shut the camera off and finished my lunch. When I started the car back up about 20 min later, the AC vent was aimed up at the camera and it seemed to do fine on the way back to work. I have the camera back out of direct sunlight but it was hot that day. I don't leave the camera on without the AC running now. Also, the Scotch double sided foam tape is still holding strong so far, even in the heat. ... show more

  • Quality Camera But Not Reliable
So, I bought this about 7 months ago. I was eager to try this out as I live in DFW and there are way too many accidents. I've had a few near misses so I needed a better dashcam than the one I had previously. I bought this one because it initially had 4.5 star reviews. It came with a front and rear camera and voice control functions. I installed the system and it was very easy. The plastic film they give you to attach the main camera does not work at all. I attached the 3M sticky side to the glass directly and its held up mostly. I believe it has only fallen 4 times which were during the hot months. The front camera is incredibly clear while the back camera is relatively clear. It will certainly help identifying plates and what someone is doing if they rear end you. I am giving this camera system 3 stars because it saved me during a wreck which was not my fault at all. But, you know how it goes. She tried saying I hit her. The dashcam footage (front and rear) saved me on this end. I'll see if I can attach that footage. Regardless, the 3 stars is due to reliability and functionality. Several times the camera will just shut off and restart. I'll have to unplug it then plug it back in. This past Sunday I needed to save a recording but the camera was frozen. It was on but frozen. Again, I had to unplug it and plug it back in. So, due to this I'm unsure if it'll be reliable when you need it most. It could be shut off or frozen whenever you get into an accident. Moreover, there are several other reviewers saying this exact same issue. Due to all this, I would not recommend this product for a dashcam. ... show more

  • This is a "Must-have" for (almost) any vehicle!
I got this dash camera set to replace one that I had in my previous vehicle. It has everything you need to install in almost any vehicle. I still gave 5 stars since the front and rear cameras are of great quality. They have a little "weight" to them. The pictures/videos are clear, and the installation and connections were simple and straightforward. I was also able to easily set the time zone, time, and loop recording duration. My husband helped me install it and it took us both less than an hour from start to finish. My only two issues are: (1) My 2025 Chevy Traverse is a little on the long side, front to back, so the included cable for the rear camera was just too short to run from the front camera on the windshield to the back to mount the rear camera on the rear windshield. I tried both high and low routing options, but it was about 1.5 - 2 feet too short. I got it to work out though since I was able to reuse the wire from my previous dash cam install; they had the same 4-pin connector. (2) I haven't been able to connect the dash cam's WiFi to my phone. I'm not sure if it's due to the "In-Car WiFi" I have that's always on. The dash cameras still record, but I may have to take the SD card out and watch the footage on my computer or tablet. That's not really too big of a deal. With all that being said, I still highly recommend this dash cam. A quality front dash and rear camera set at an affordable price is a no-brainer. ... show more

  • Surprised at the quality and ease of use.
This was a gift from my wife. I have been talking about getting one of these for awhile, but I am the type who likes to research and get the relevant features and quality and value, so I kind of take my time shopping. When this just showed up I was nervous that this would be less than par. Happy to say that I am pleasantly surprised!! This is a great dash cam! It is small and tucks behind my rearview mirror very sleekly but still with great access and view for the driver. It has a clear screen so you can see what the camera is seeing and clear play back video. It has done great at night with clear vision and recording. Comes with a camera for the rear view as well. Plenty of cord to reach wherever I have needed it. Several ways to mount it along with quick release mounting so you can take the camera to another vehicle if you want. The power connects to a cigarette lighter. What I did was just connected it up in minutes to try it out before committing to it. Once I realized how satisfied I was I took the time to tuck the wire behind the trim in my truck all the way from the upper windshield and around to behind the dash. I removed the 12V cigarette lighter inlet and connected the wires directly to my fuse box to an unused circuit that only had power when the ignition is on. So the dashcam has power every time I start the truck but I have no cords or wires visible to my dash or to the rear camera. I couldn’t be more pleased. I have since looked around at other models and brands to see what I might be missing out on and so far I haven’t seen anything that I think I would like better than this one that my wife bought. Maybe I will let her shop for me more often. ... show more

  • Very positive results!!!!!
I bought this FocuWay just a few days after returning a dashcam (another brand) due to the poor quality of the videos and other negative things so I was a little worried about what the others would be and at the same time I was very interested in having a dashcam in my car for protection on the road and when leaving the car parked in public places. I bought it about a month ago and was waiting for a reasonable amount of time to allow me to make an evaluation with concrete elements and I can feel fortunate that the result has been very positive, not only because of the quality of the videos, which I will detail later. Along with the camera I also bought the hard wiring kit (B0BG5DM5CL) to use the parking mode function and the recommended higher capacity micro SD Card. I am not an expert in this type of equipment nor a professional electrician, so I will not base my review on the verification of technical details but on the results that are easily appreciated by anyone, but I can say that it was still very easy for me to proceed with its installation, configuration and start-up thanks to having seen “FOCUWAY D2 Duo 4K dash cam install and cable hide video” and the easily understandable Owner's Manual that comes in the box. On the other hand, I was also impressed by how easy it is to download videos to the cell phone using the app with a WiFi connection and that the videos have all the information about the date, time, coordinates of the place (thanks to the built-in GPS) and speed of the vehicle, as well as checking the operation of the voice control feature. High quality videos both day and night !!!!!. I am very satisfied so I recommend the purchase of the FocuWay D2-Duo 4K BD Perez ... show more

  • Good purchase and happy with it especially for the price.
So I have been using this for 2 months now and so far so good. I bought the hardwire kit and if you can, include it in your purchase. This is a good addition as you can use the footage while the car is parked as additional CCTV footage at home especially if parked outside in case of burglary or theft. The build quality of the device is good for both cameras and is not affected by the hot sun when parked even while recording. When it comes to installing, I watched several YouTube videos to gain the confidence to do it my self especially for the hardwire part. If it’s just the camera without the hardwire installation, it should be straight forward just know where to place the rear camera and how to hide the wire that runs to the back. Set up For the camera/device is easy, with settings on the device or on the app when connected to the phone to. The WiFi on the device is for connecting the app to the phone so as to view or download the footage. The display is big enough and what I like about it is I can use the rear camera when my rear view mirror is obscured while driving. To avoid being obstructed by the display while driving, you can activate the screen saver which indicates the speed, time and date. As for the image/video quality, it’s good and usable for the front camera especially when you using the higher (2k) resolution. The rear camera has only one option 720p and is not good at night but definitely good to capture an incident or accident and have proof who’s on the wrong. It can also be an extra back up camera. The front camera says 4k but I’m sure there are better cameras than this and you can notice it when view the footage on a TV screen. Even on the phone it’s not as sharp as the phone camera video so keep your expectations low. While on parking mode I have noticed sometimes the recording stops but I’m yet to figure out why which I will follow up with customer support. The car battery will not be affected at all when connected to the camera on parking mode. ... show more
