The hose automatically draining ensures I do not have to keep emptying the tank, which is a huge convenience. The only flaw is that it does produce some noise, so I wouldn't recommend it for a common space in the house. The unit it smaller than I imagined, but I think it will do well in the basement. My only complaint is the hose hook-up. It is the first dehumidifier I have had that doesn’t have a hose hook-up the size of a garden hose. That 1/2 inch was very hard to match with any hose. It took 20 minutes in the hardware store to fine the 3 connectors with which I could connect my hose. This size of the output should be stated. ... show more

The dehumidifier quit working before the warrantee expired. Thru Amazon I contacted the company for a replacement. Thru numerous correspondence the company kept asking for more and more information. I supplied all the information they requested. Then they started to ask for all the information again. I explained that I had provided all the information but again provided what they requested. As they stalled for time, the warrantee expired. They stated this and I explained if they looked thru all the correspondence they would see that the warrantee had not expired when I first contacted them. They then offered 30% off a new one. I requested a replacement. They requested a video of the dehumidifier not working. I made three videos but was unable to upload them because the files were too large. Mine did not work and will be returning it. Was delivered on its side. After removing the pouter box I saw the warning that it should remain “this end up”. Further instructions said to leave it upright 24 hours before use. We waited 48 hours. Worked and dehumidified but shortly after starting it overheated and stopped dehumidifying. This dehumidifier is a great asset to our home. We live in a humid (at times) area. We are very happy with this unit. The only drawback to it is the removal of the water bin to empty water. It is not very easy to remove. Otherwise it is great.
