  • Good bang for buck
Color: Blue
Packaged really well, I was surprised, only complaint is they didnt ship the ram in a locked state and it had some damaged to the road just below the end. It went together without an issue, I would of liked to see washers included and the two tension peices are flimsy metal, dont know how they could help any. Havent used yet but should be fine. The boom hits my 8ft garage ceiling if I dont pay attention. ... show more

  • Not well built and unsafe
Color: Blue
Welds are garbage, couldn’t lift a 1000lb welder on the 2 ton pin without tipping forward. Overall poorly built. Do not recommend. Poses a very large safety risk.

  • Good and bad - depends
Color: Blue
Summary: If you need a hoist NOW or if you aren’t very mechanically inclined, I’d suggest paying more and getting something you’ll be able to use right out of the box. If you have an angle grinder and a welder and a bit of time, this can be a good hoist for a good price…just not right out of the box. Long winded version: I ordered this because it was the cheapest engine hoist with a two-ton rating, plain & simple. I mostly don’t use these for engines - I have a tractor and overhead cranes for that, but sometimes you need to pick up heavy stuff in a corner of the shop where a crane or tractor can’t easily get, and this thing comes into play. My last one (HFT) finally gave up after a decade of hard use, and the price of those has more than doubled so I came looking here and bought this one. Sorry for all the background, figured it might matter. PROs: Assembles easily, all the parts were present, very well packaged, instructions in better English than average for cheap products, and the castors seem to be suitable to the task. The steel components all seem solid, parts fit together properly (with more slop than I’d prefer but that can be solved with spacers), the bolt holes line up properly, and the structural bolts are way oversize for the loads. That’s good since I wouldn’t actually bet on them being Gr8.8 material like they claim to be. But even if they’re A36 (basic soft steel) they’ll be plenty strong for this machine. CONs: The steel parts have sharp edges, there’s weld spatter, the parts are full of loose slag that spills everywhere, the welds are not professional, and it appears that the steel had surface rust on some spots before they sprayed blue paint over everything and slapped it all into a box. The piston leaked hydraulic oil all over, soaking the box and the instructions and leaving the piston unable to extend more than half way up. Fasteners included do not match the parts list in the manual, and the fasteners themselves are definitely not high quality. The steel straps to support the upright section should have been bent at each end to make them fit properly. They weren't bent so are too long to mount as intended and had to be mounted outside the base rails and still forced into place. Photo attached. Worst of all are the welds which hold the upper arm to its pivot points. They are so full of porosity it’s incredible, but got painted and shipped anyway. You’d be a fool to try picking up two tons with those welds. Photos included for your amusement. So why on earth did I give it three stars?? Because I paid for the cheapest and I got the cheapest. I will grind out the bad welds and reweld them. I’ll replace the fasteners with good stuff. I’ll use a flap disc to clean off the spatter and the sharp edges and the painted-over rust, and then re-spray this thing with some Rustoleum. I’ll use spacers to make the moving parts align and move smoothly, bend the support strap ends, and top up the ram with more hydraulic oil. It will be safer, stronger, look better and still be less than half the price of an HFT hoist that is arguably not much better. ... show more

  • Quality control issues
Color: Blue
Quality control is junk.... I was hopeful for the price and figured it would work out and I could upgrade later. Get it together and start to put the arm together and none of the holes line up. You can't bolt it together. Can I find a way to fix it? Yes. Should I have to? No.... And yes I flipped the bar every way and it doesn't line up ... show more

  • Its okay. Could use better Quality Control
Mine arrive with dents and missing hardware. Luckily the hardware store is 2 blocks away. The finish is okay and you may have to drill some of the holes for the wheels bigger.

  • Casters wheels are completely garbage
Color: Blue
Caster wheels a complete garbage. Assembly required which no big deal but if I’m pulling a motor out of a vehicle I expect smooth wheels to easily move around. Spent hours fighting and having to kick , yes actually kick each at each wheel area to get the thing where I needed it. Now I’ll have to spend more money on upgrading the casters. Also warning label is not legible English. Stay clear in my opinion, spend more on something that actually works as it’s supposed to. Crane works well though but again casters are completely useless. I probably would have had an easier time without the wheels . ... show more
