I installed this engine in a Bobcat 610 skid steer, adding a 4-to-1 gear reduction for the drive to compensate for the reduced power. Works well! I do have one complaint however, this engine smokes significantly when starting and under load. I added a 4 foot stack to get the exhaust above the machine. I have about 3 hours of run time on it now, going strong. It will go about an hour and a half on one tank of diesel, which is awesome compared to a similar size gas engine. Overall solid so far, but I’m disappointed about the thick black smoke… definitely a no-go for operating under a roof. It doesn’t appear to be burning oil, just incomplete combustion. --- Update 8/1/2024: I wanted to add that the smoke does clear up when the engine is warm and running freely but will belch out a black puff whenever you operate under heavy load. I now have around 10 hours run time on this setup, and have had no problems with the engine. I am very happy I bolted an inexpensive hour meter to the air cover, and highly recommend doing this. --- Starting the engine isn’t difficult, however, it is a two hands + two legs kind of job. You have to engage release the compression release, then pull through the next compression. The engine is LOUD, no quiet power here. I changed to remote muffler, hoping for improvement, but no luck. The engine does run cooler than a comparable gas engine, which I like.

The engine arrived quick the only thing is when I try to start it the first time it's hard to start and coil start slipping until I install the starter it's start easy.

The pull starter is cheaply made and broke while attempting to start. So i cannot start motor to see if it runs. New pull starter was $49.00. What a rip off made of plastic not steel like all other pull starters I've seen on most engines. Will break easily check out videos. There is no starter ring on fly wheel, be prepared to spend 200 for electric starter kit and fly wheel puller to install kit.

Put on a tiller in July ran for about 15min seemed to be great. Got back out in November to till some of the garden ran for 40min started knocking and locked up they said the warranty period is 180 days so now I have a useless motor with less than 1hr run time . Should have bought a predator saved myself aggravation and money. Hope this helps anyone else thinking of buying on of these cheep motors .
