  • Effective and Easy-to-Use Filament Dryer
Style: Space PI Plus
I purchased the Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer Plus to help reduce moisture issues with my 3D printing filament, and it has been a solid addition to my workflow. The unit is easy to set up and use right out of the box. It accommodates spools of various sizes and holds them securely while gently drying the filament. I’ve used it with PLA, PETG, and ABS, and I’ve noticed fewer printing issues like stringing and inconsistent extrusion when filament has been pre‑dried. The controls are straightforward and intuitive, allowing me to adjust settings based on the type of material I’m drying. The build feels sturdy and well‑made, and the internal drying environment maintains consistent heat without overheating the filament. Overall, the Space Pi Filament Dryer Plus has made a noticeable difference in filament performance and has reduced the amount of failed prints due to moisture. It’s a worthwhile tool for anyone serious about consistent 3D printing results. ... show more

  • Necessity for FDM printers
Style: Space PI Plus
For FDM printing, drying your filament improves print quality and is a necessity for certain materials. This dryer fits 2 spools, is easy to use, and works well. It uses a fan to force air around the filament to facilitate drying, rather than just temp alone, so there will be fan noise. Easy read touch screen for adjustments. Setup is easy - it has preset temps for material type which can also be adjusted if desired, and then you just set the timer and let it run. Filament can also be fed directly to your printer from ports on the top of the dryer, which is also super convenient (although I have not used this function yet). There are many options for filament drying out there, and this one works perfect. ... show more

  • A very good drier that works well and has an accurate timer.
Style: Space PI Plus
This works as good as you would expect. It dries very evenly as far as I can tell. I usually dry for 4 to 8 hours to begin with depending on the type of filament. Some filaments I just leave in all the time, like pet g. I just feed directly out of the unit to my printer as there is a built in ptfe tube and I run out of that into the printer. The controls are very clear and easy to read and use. Although when I first used it I selected pet g, and it put up 4 hours. I figured that is what the selection of the type of filament was for. However, that was the only time that happened. I don’t know why, or if, the machine puts up the time to dry. Now I wonder why there is even a selector for material type as it doesn’t seem to change the temperature and it doesn’t select a time to dry, you have to put that in. Not a big deal as it is very easy to do. The timer is accurate and easy to set. I like this and have no issues with it. ... show more

  • Great most of the time
Style: Space PI Plus
There are a couple issues, but other than that, it works well. It does an adequate job of "sealing" the filament so that it doesn't soak up too much moisture between times running (I feel like it strikes a good balance of doing this and being easy to open/close). It drys out filament fairly quickly. Not too noisy. The main issue is the touch screen. It's very poor quality, but SO FAR it still works. It's mostly just very annoying and finicky. The one failure-issue I've run into is when you try to set it to ASA or ABS temperature. I usually have it drying PETG, so it sits at 60 C most of the time, but ASA asks for 65 C. At that temperature, the whole unit seems to hit an error and shut down, so I don't recommend setting it to that temperature. However, when I do print with ASA, I just keep it at 60 C and the print quality is still fine. As far as how easily it feeds out filament, it works mostly fine. I have had my printer PULL THE WHOLE DRYER OFF THE SHELF, but that was because I hit the end of the roll and the force of pulling the last bit from the spool was more than the friction of the feet of the dryer. So, I recommend either adding better friction to the feet, and/or always making sure you have a fairly full spool in the other slot (to add weight) when you have another spool that's about to run out. The other feed out issue I've had is with TPU. With this, you'll need to be more creative, because there's so much more friction as it gets through the ports than anything else. My solution has been to use a little piece of PTFE tube and put that in one of the little secondary vents on the LID, and feed through that. You do not want to feed TPU through an entire PTFE tube, because that will just add too much friction and could cause very annoying jams in your hot end. You especially do not want to feed it through the port on the top, because that's too sharp a turn. ... show more

  • Display functionality isn't great
Style: Space PI Plus
Dryer seems to work fine but the touch display is awful. Power button alone seems to require perfect placement/pressure/duration - it's honestly frustrating to turn on/off using touch screen. Might be defective as the power button seems to be worst offender. Still, given the operation of entire unit requires 4 buttons, I feel like they needlessly overcomplicated the design with a flashy display that works poorly. Also disappointed at the two short segments of tubing provided that I think will be useless on most pairings with this dryer. ... show more

  • Hot and quiet.
Style: Space PI Plus
Best filament drier out there. Bought a second one for a printer at another location. Gets hot, can run for 48 hours. The fan isn’t too loud as the brand I had before.

  • Fan noise. Warranty?
Style: Space PI Plus
Updated below It was a great 2 spool dryer. The touch screen isn’t great but usable. Started making a horrible fan noise. Lasted 10 months. I was expecting at least 2 years. I am going to try the warranty through creality. I will give an update. Once I contacted Creality I had a new fan within 7days of my first email to them. I did have to fix it my self which takes about 10min. Pretty easy. I would buy it again. You can buy a replacement fan for $15 on eBay. Check out Reddit for link to fan. Search eBay for cheapest deal. Many sellers sell the same fan. It takes about 10mins to heat up to 60c. It is hotter near the fan by 5c and 5c less near the intake. The temp does level out after about an hour. ... show more

  • So far it's awesome
Style: Space PI Plus
I was reluctant to get this because I've seen lots of videos where the screen is very low quality, when it gets touched the letters become washed out like an old LCD calculator screen, or touching the button once makes it skip several options at once as if the button was pressed multiple times and is a pain to change the options on the touch screen. On my unit the screen is solid, it's responsive, and doesn't have any if the weird behavior I've seen online. The fans are powerful (so a bit noisy) and really help to move the air around. I wish the temp went lower and higher is my only complaint. I think it goes down to 45C and up to 70C. I used it to test drying on some Bambu PLA and on 50C it seems like the PLA stuck to itself a little, but didn't melt and make it unusable. For that reason I wish I could turn the temp down below 45C, but then maybe it wouldn't dehydrate? I want to buy some ABS or ASA filament and Bambu says they require a dryer at 80C and this will not do that high of temp. I bought this model for the price and because with the fans it'll move the air and dry the filament better, quicker, and more evenly than other dryers with weak fans or no fan. ... show more
