I have been comparing shear pins for the Ego battery operated 24" snowblower and find these work as well as any of the others available and at a lesser price that original Ego shear pins. They fit well and don't impede the snow-blowing task at hand. They are of good quality and will protect your snow-blower from jams that might damage the auger. These look and feel like shear pins for a snowblower, however, since they won't fit my machine I decided to try testing them DIY style. They passed my first test of visually inspecting the shear bands where there is less material. Second test, they were soft to a metal file and I was able to easily scrape off the black coating and notch them. Unfortunately, I'm going to fail them on my last test which involved applying force in a vice, attempting to bend them with pliers and then finally pounding on the secured bolts with a hammer. I found them very difficult to break, they bent instead of snapping, and when one finally broke it didn't fail on the shear line. I will admit that my tests were completely DIY and I didn't have a good baseline for comparison, but my conclusion is that I'm not sure I would trust them to fail if I jammed my running snowblower into an immovable object. Given the price of my snowblower vs. OEM pins, I'll let you guess how I would source these. ... show more
