If you have to remove the spring clamp for your washer boot (mine was a Kenmore Elite)- getting the metal clamp/spring back on would have been a NIGHTMARE without this tool. It's fairly easy to get the clamp OFF with just a screwdriver, but getting it back ON is where this tool will save your life.     • Does not work with all Washer gasket Tub Springs
I bought this tool to remove the 2 tub spring clamps on my LG front loading washer. It worked fine for the front spring but there was no way it was going to work with the interior spring without some serious modifications. The interior spring is wider and uses a hook end to close the spring clamp. This tool will not open or close enough for this use. I had to cut and grind the inner portions of the tool to give it greater distance of travel for both removing the spring and putting it back on. Make your life easier and temporarily wire the inner spring in place, around the tub so you do not have to worry about it falling out of the groove it is supposed to reside in. Then you can just struggle with getting the spring clamp closed! ... show more

    • A must have tool
If you change your washer door gasket, this tool is a must have. I don't know how you could remove and install the springs without it.

    • Needed a little adjustment
The prongs on this tool are just a little too large to fit into the circle of the spring and metal piece. With a little bit of filing I was able to remove enough metal to make it fit. So, not perfect, but useable with a minor adjustment.

It works just as needed. Beats using pliers and saves you from damaging the gasket when removing the snap ring!

    • OK tool with limited application.
This product wouldn't be too bad if the ring retainer tips would have been finished a bit more. They work ok if you don't need a real wide span, otherwise the eyes slip down off the tips.

    • Is simply the tool for the job
This spring spreading pliers worked wonders when I replaced my front loading LG washing machine's drain pump that went bad after 13 years. With this tool, a Phillips screwdriver, a 1/4 inch nut driver, a flashlight and about an hour of time I got the job done, easy as long as you have this tool.
