The tool is made well, except it doesn’t expand enough to be of any help. I would return it but I bent the two tips to make it work. It did work and it was helpful. It’s just kind of crooked now. I needed to replace the pump on a washing machine. Every task in the process was super simple and it is easy to find video walkthroughs on the steps, but removing and refitting the door seal would be very difficult without this tool. Look up which versions are compatible with your machine (there should be lots of overlappling compatibility) and get one before you start the project. So easy. ... show more

The item was fine but it's just not quite large enough to spread the Maytag (and prrobably other) washer boots. The product description didn't say it was so I'm not downrating the seller nor the product for that. My personal leap of faith gets one star, though.

    • It makes a difficult task simple.
Removing the spring clamp from the door boot on a front loading washer is easy, putting it back on without this tool would be very difficult. To replace the drain hose on my front loader you have to remove the top, front and back. You need to remove the spring clamp on the door boot in order to remove the front. The tool worked perfectly, but I hope I never have to use it again. ... show more

This did exactly what I needed it for, to expand the spring on the cable ring sealing the gasket on my washing machine. Worked perfect and would have had a very hard time without it. That being said I’m not sure when I might ever use again.
