God Awful Experience First of all the product was very poor quality. The light bulb assembly could not screw tightly into the lamp post due to sloppy tolerances, so it wobbled like a drunken toddler. And the screw that secures the lamp shade to the harp assembly was welded on at an angle. The whole thing put together was like a doofy bobble head. The lamps were shipped tightly swaddled in thin plastic bound with enough shipping tape to hold an I beam in place. Getting them out of the box was a challenge. Trying to pack it back up again was worse, since most of the packing material had to be cut free to extricate it from all the tape. Be prepared to provide some packing material for returns. Then the fun starts. The return instructions in the box instruct you to contact Lamps Plus directly for Amazon sales. However, calling the number on the page will put you in contact with a very nice person who can do nothing but direct you back to Amazon. Apparently online sales is a different part of the company, with no telephones, and not on speaking terms with the help line that has phones. Back to Amazon, I click the return button and print out the UPS return label. Just fine, except that when you order the 'Lynn Modern Country Cottage Tall Buffet Table Lamps 26" High Set of 2 Black Finish Metal Burlap Linen Cotton Drum Shade' it comes in two boxes. One with the (wobbly) lamps and some stock shade and another box with the drum shades. One return label and two boxes. Not sure how UPS will like that. So Back to Ms. Friendly at Lamps Plus who still cannot breech the fire wall between the phone-less online group and the help desk. She tells me that I have to send a message to them via the vendor profile on the Amazon site to figure out how to get a second shipping label. Back to amazon site we go, trying to find a way to the vendor profile. There isn't an intuitive path to it. Back to the friendly but impotent Lamps Plus phone rep. She sends me a link to the vendor profile page. Which I follow and fill out, but the Amazon site rejects it because it isn't connected to an order. Back to the Lamps Plus, but while hanging out on hold I manage to drill down 3 or 4 layers from the order page to a vendor profile with a message box. Cowabunga! I send a message to Lamps plus explaining my predicament. They send a response telling me that I need to use the return forms in the boxes. Which were clearly packed at the country of origin with no return forms, outdated instructions, and never saw the light of day again until I opened the boxes here. Sent another message to Lamps Plus with a copy of the sparse instructions included in the shipment. In the meantime my wife says effit and heads to UPS with two boxes and one label. UPS doesn't like that idea so we return just the lamps. Lamps Plus finally gets it and sends me two FedEx shipping labels. Swell Off to FedEx this time and we return the shades. So the lamps got returned via Amazon channels and the shades directly to lamps plus. Now for the fine print on the lamps plus return policy. Not like a seamless Amazon return where you get your refund before you get out the door at UPS. Lamps plus says that they need to inspect the item prior to issuing a refund. Fair enough. But then they can take weeks to issue the refund after they inspect it. That makes me a little nervous, since the way it is packed pretty much requires the destruction of the original packing materials to extricate the product. Are they going to ding me for that? And I am also nervous that they will never match up the lamps and the shades that got returned through different channels. That remains to be seen. So in a month I may get a refund and I may not. My guess is that they are going to resell my wobbly toddler lamps to some other unfortunate dope and keep my refund because I used green tape to secure the ripped plastic instead of copious quantities of strapping tape. Perhaps that's their business model. It's not quality. ... show more

These lamps are absolutely perfect for a variety of places to use them either in your home or office. As you can see, I purchased them to use on my buffet. I was a bit nervous about purchasing lamps unseen, but these lived up to my hopes & expectations. I did purchase the hard sided shades & they were packaged extremely well. All materials were included & extremely easy to assemble. Lamps are outrageously expensive & these are an exceptional deal & are absolutely gorgeous and matched the color of my buffet perfectly!
