  • Great for travel!
I bought this solely for airline travel. Sunglasses, car keys, a ticket for airport parking, and headphones/airbuds immediately go into the many pockets as I'm walking from my car to the terminal. Eventually, cell phone(s), smartwatch, and wallet go in the pockets for TSA/scanning - I take the vest off and throw it in the bin with my backpack. Eventually, my 11" Amazon Tablet very snugly fits into the inside pocket before I board the plane. I can easily fit a water bottle (and other stuff) in the other inside pocket. This allows me to quickly throw my backpack in the overhead bin, and when I sit down, I have everything I need for my flight. This saves me A LOT of hassle at the airport. The vest is 100% worth it for what I bought it for. Is it well-made? Yes, this vest has extensive use. The inside large pockets (made of mesh) should hold up to use and abuse for an estimated 5 years. Are the shell and zippers well-made? Yes. Above average. Is it warm? I don't really get cold. It was functional for a 3-block walk in 25-degree weather in Fargo, ND. I would say this is more of a mid-Fall/mid-Spring weight. I'll wear this over a short-sleeve shirt when I travel to warmer climates. I don't overheat, but I do take it off when I get to my rental car. This works for my purposes, and I would buy it again. ... show more

  • High quality, great fitting vest!
I purchased this vest primarily for an undergarment with pockets to wear during snow skiing. The ski jacket I bought doesn't have enough pockets for my phone, lift pass, ear buds, lip balm, eye drops, credit cards/cash, etc... I wasn't looking for excessive bulk and many jackets didn't qualify because I have long arms. I have not tested the vest as to its level of being windproof as it was used as a mid-layer in my system. I will say that the vest is breathable as I was warm under the vest but didn't notice any excessive moisture to cause a concern. I'm 6', 1" and 185lbs slender build and I can wear a tee shirt and thin fleece jacket under this size medium vest and retain a perfect fit. There is a draw string at the bottom of the vest to form fit as necessary and stop and drafts from entering the core. I use the chest pocket to easily fit my phone and with the tabs included on the zipper grommets I can access the zippers with my ski gloves on. Speaking of zippers, I'm surprised at the quality of the zippers so far, they start with ease and glide smoothly without any snags. The zippers are even smoother than the ones on my name brand ski coat. We'll see how long they last but I've been out 3 full days so far and the vest isn't showing any signs of wear. I did have a loose thread to clip off along the bottom of the jacket when new, but this area has not opened up or shown any other unusual wear. I'll update this review if any occurs in the future. I would recommend this vest to anyone looking for a good fitting vest. I'm glad that I didn't order a large as it would have been way too big. ... show more

  • Fantastic vest
This vest is wonderful. It's water AND stain proof! I spilled some blueberries on it and cleaned right off NO MARKS AT ALL! Because it's longer than my others, the double zips are great to keep it from bunching up when sitting, plenty of secure pockets. It's warm, comfortable and good looking. I'd give it more stars if I could! ... show more

  • fit is good and good cost
I had to order one size up for a good fit over a flannel shirt. But, these are really nice vests. Not all puffed out like the old style down filler vests. Pockets are zippered and big. Good for passports, phone, wallet, both inside pockets, and zippered front outside pocket. Nice product. Great colors, lightly insulated, and sheds water too. soft and quiet - not noisy nylon. Best I have found. ... show more

  • If you drive for a living, get this vest.
I am a big "L" so when i first put on the vest I noticed a very nice fit-not snug around the belly, long hem, and large sleeve holes. The second I noticed was the thickness and nice lining. The shell material seams durable and breathable. The liner is a fleece type. Its soft and thick enough to add comfort and warmth. The great thing about this vest are the pockets. The hand pockets are deep and lined so things stay secure and hands stay warm. The two outer pockets are super handy. One had a zipper and the other velcro which is totally handy for me because I am having to constantly put on and take off a mask. 3 inner pockets are also useful. One zippered and two deep pockets. Now, what really makes this vest special is the double zipper in front. It great for when you go to the restroom and have to unbuckle stuff and then tuck in stuff as well as when you are seated driving for long time. The zippers are also top notch and have the little rope doggle for easy grip. Twice as much as the other vest I got but a million times better. ... show more

  • Own both the 33,000 ft and SCOTTeVEST- why spend more?
I own both the 33,000 ft and SCOTTeVEST vests. I currently own one SCOTTeVEST vest and four 33,000 ft vests in various colors. I've been wearing both vests on and off for about a year. In my opinion, just get the 33,000 ft vest and save a lot of money (a savings of about $165 as of the date of this review). The SCOTTeVEST is undoubtedly high-quality and boasts an absurdly large number of pockets. So many pockets, in fact, that you'll end up forgetting where you put things. And with so many pockets, it becomes impractical to fill them up. Even when I extensively travel, I never use all the pockets. I do appreciate the RFID blocking (only on some pockets) on the SCOTTeVEST. However, it's not a deal-breaker. I do wish the 33,000 ft version had YKK zippers, but the zippers provided have functioned flawlessly even under adverse conditions. The 33,000 ft version is very well designed and the materials are great and very well suited for layering (may want to consider one size up if you fall between sizes).. I can literally purchase 7 of the $33,000 ft versions for the same price that I paid for a single SCOTTeVEST. The difference in price is simply not supported by any real value. Plus, the vest is just so damn wearable in so many situations. Great purchase. I am now looking to buy one of their jackets that are based off the vest. Save yourself some money. ... show more

  • Would cost 4x if it was a well known Advertised Brand
Regardless of price, this is about as good a vest as you can buy and I own many. I got a Medium but am 6ft and 190# as I think a vest needs to be slight body hugging. Fit is good. The thickness, number of pockets, and look are top notch. The exterior is not quite as soft as many of my vests but that is how this vest can better block the wind and rain. Seems to be average to above average warmth. This vest will find its home in my golf bag. The warmth, wind resistance and moisture resistance make it ideal. will end with mention that the zippers seem to be more substantial quality then what I might have expected. Time will tell how they hold up. ... show more

  • Size caution. Quality great.
SIZE- Just a heads up- I am 6ft 205 and large was too big- medium fit great. However, if you have any gut it will be tight in the stomach area. QUALITY- I bought one and once I got the right size M I bought 3 more for 4 total. I have some north face vests amd this seem to be just as good. Love the material, the light and soft lining, quality zippers and pockets that also zip. Would buy again but i already have 4- ha. ... show more
