Purchased this wanting a three in one option so I can ditch my headset and have a speaker. I use a docking laptop so when it is closed I cannot hear sound. This was one of the few that offered a speaker, microphone and camera all in one. That said, I was surprised and disappointed it did not come with an adjustable mount or tripod. Even the cheap versions came with something to customize the mount. I did not anticipate the mounting being an issue especially given the higher price, however it was impossible to mount this on my slim desktop monitors. The whole point of purchasing this WebCam was to simplify my set up. It is not simple. Because I use multiple monitors, I could not mount on a standard large tripod such as used with a halo light - where would I place the tripod without moving monitors and taking up floor space? I ended up purchasing an Amazon Basics mini tripod for the top of my desk to sit in front of my monitors. Still it is about 6 inches too short to be at proper face height, However I managed to stack a few books under it and make it work. This is not ideal and not a permanent solution. I have spent more than enough time trying to find a solution to this problem therefore the reason for my four star review. That said, the photo quality is great, the microphone works and I have received feedback it is clear. It is plug and play with no issues. Works as advertised. Easy to install. Just plug in USB and good to go. Quality of sound is good. I like having the extra speakers as my laptop speakers are not that good, especially when laptop is closed. Sharp image broadcast to viewers. Highly recommend for price.

I have an old Mac from 2011 and wanted to upgrade speakers and video for zoom calls but the camera is wayy to dark and blotchy. I end up just using headphones and the original camera on my computer. Even when modifying the brightness the image is still off.

I've been using the C980 for some time, and when the new C980 Pro came out I was excited to try it out. I've used the Logitech C930 for a while, and was looking for something less expensive for home use, especially since lately I'm on conference calls almost all day. My primary needs were all met -- specifically: -- Brightness - this captures light better than the C930, and is definitely the brightest webcam I've used. It's great since I keep my room fairly dark. (see picture above) -- Integrated Speaker -- I didn't realize I needed this until I got it. Since Mac won't control the audio output over HDMI, I wanted something that could be volume controlled through my computer (it shows up as a speaker output) as well as something where the sound was coming from the same direction as my camera, a much more natural experience when you're trying to look into the camera. This speakers aren't super hi-fi (<1" drivers after all), but it's considerably louder than my monitor speaker and very clear for conferencing. -- wIde field of view. This seems similar to the 930 (see picture above) -- great if you've got multiple people behind a table and need to all be in the shot. (see picture above) -- multiple microphones - this picks up all the voices in the room with good background noise removal. I like that this camera as it has both mics and speakers built in, which I needed because I use a chromebox and this saves having to get separate speakers, camera and some sorta of mic. I do think the lack of control over the camera is an issue. It's auto feature is really good but I was having a small issue with wash out and the camera kept over correcting and I had to close a nearby window blind to solve for this. There should be some sort of control but I guess you get what you get. Speakers are great for calls but not for listening to music, as there is again no control except for volume - also important to note is I did not get it to listen to music so I had no expectations - this was for virtual meetings and it does this very well. It is pretty well plug and play and has worked really reliability with a couple of small issues - the mic and speakers sometimes stop working if I switched between meeting providers (mostly going into MS Teams meeting) that is easily solved by simply unplugging the USB and then plugging it back in. Overall, I am happy with this and would recommend it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The video quality of this camera is top notch, but the sound quality of the speakers (and maybe the microphone) is a bit tinny. If you don't care about high fidelity sound, the speakers do their job. You can use the speakers as the system speakers (at least on my Windows10 PC), which is how I am using them since I don't have much room on my desktop for stand-alone speakers (I can't use my laptop speakers because my pc is hidden below my desk). I also like how the camera has an attached cover for when it's not in use. The camera mount is not the most secure, and the camera can be easily knocked off your monitor if you aren't careful. But overall, I can recommend this webcam. I'm removing 1 star for the tinny sound quality and poor mount. ... show more
