  • Just OKAY
The food processor seems to work fine but the blender is rather wimpy in my opinion. I shall keep the combo but can’t recommend if you need a blender with power.

  • This is a discontinued product
Be careful about this. The product is discontinued, 5 years old. Came to me in open box with no manual and missing a part, which is how I know because I just got off the phone with Cuisinart to get the part. It looks like it's going to work once the part comes, but this is NOT a new item. Pick something newer. ... show more

  • It's pretty good
This blender/ food processor combo was a gift. Pros: 1.) Packaging is mostly molded lightweight cardboard - so much more environmentally friendly than Styrofoam and a lot of plastic. 2.) Simple design. a.) There’s the attachments for the blender. b.) For the food processor, there’s the chopping attachment and then the stem and blade for slicing and shredding. c.) The controls are either pulse, low, high or off. 3.) It does a decent job of all the basic functions (purees - not quite as fine as I would like, but still OK). 4.) The size of the blender is fine -7 cups. The food processor fits 3 cups - so also handles all but the largest jobs. You could also break things into batches if you needed more space. 5.) Efficient use of allowing the blender and food processor having the same base. So, you might have a day like I did, where you make something that uses the blender, say a roasted garlic and mayonnaise sauce, followed by the food processor, with sliced vegetables… using one machine. 6.) Big plus: Everything (except the base) can be put into the dishwasher compactly - without taking up all the space. 7.) I like the fact that the bowl for the blender and the food processor attachment have a ‘squared’ bottom. This makes it easy for you to take them off the motorized base and take things out while being stable on a counter surface. It also appears to make ice crush faster - if you use the longer cubes that come out of freezer ice maker for your smoothies. It other blenders, that ice gets held up as the bottom gets more narrow. Cons: 1.) Not a lot of written direction. But to be fair, I do think it’s mostly self-explanatory if you’ve had a blender or food processor before. Could be a plus - if you wind up throwing the instructions away anyway - like I typically do after one read. 2.) I don’t think the look of it is a ‘wow’ - it’s more of an ‘OK’ look - but personally I tend towards preferring the look of stainless steel/enamel. The bowls are plastic, as are the base. That makes it lightweight to handle (which could be a plus compared with a typical food processor), but it gives it a ‘less substantial’ look than, say, something made of metal and glass. So, if you’re looking for high end polish, this ain’t it. Overall though, it’s a like. ... show more

  • Powerful, compact blender/food processor
PROS: The blender base is heavy, sturdy, the blades are very sharp and the motor powerful. Only a 3 pulses chopped 6 ice cubes into "shaved" ice. That is a nice feature. The container itself is plastic (I was expecting glass) which is fine for most blending needs like blending soups, milk shakes, pancake batter, etc. takes only a few pulses). PROS: The Processor bowl is a compact size, suitable for smaller batches, mostly just right for a household with 2 people, or making dips, small batches of bread crumbs, shred a piece of hard cheese or chocolate, couple of carrots or potatoes for pancakes, etc.; if you need a food processor for a family, I'd recommend a larger size. CONS: 1) There are only low-high-pulse speeds. Variable speed would be nice to have. 2) It also would be good to have the blender container from glass, as if you make a garlicky dressing and than need to make pancake or a sweet batter it can pick up the flavor form the plastic - maybe nit I have only purchased it a few weeks ago. Will update is after a period if such usage. 3) The food processor shredding/slicing disk has to be attached over a separate stem, and the blades removed, therefore there is no way to store it together inside the processor bowl as one unit (it does not fit into the top cover - too high); thus you have a separate disc or separate chopping blade to store around. I imagined it will be a space saving appliance and the disc will fit for storage into the FP bowl, it doesn't. Still I like the design and performance & it is space saving to a degree - one can switch the attachments as needed onto the same base. I recommend this blender/processor combo with taking the pros and cons into consideration. ... show more

  • This company can’t be bothered to stand behind its product!
This came without a blender lid. I called the company to ask them to send me a lid, and they refused—I would have to buy it! So you can forget about customer service. However, before I returned it, I used the blender with a jar lid I had that sat right in the hole, preventing splatters, so I’d know if I wanted to try again after I returned this one. It worked reasonably well with my Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie. I still missed the perfection of the Ninja Foodi blender I had to return because it required strength I don’t have to insert the blender container into the base. With the Foodi, you push one button, then wait 75 seconds for a perfect smoothie! I had to cycle the Cuisinart myself—it took longer and required a bit more liquid (I freeze my bananas and orange segments—so there are a lot of frozen fruits in mine). It did a good job, though not stellar like the Foodi.( I did not use the bowl attachment.) Good for the price. ... show more
