I’ve wanted a drone for awhile and could never justify the purchase. My girlfriend and I are currently building a home, so having a drone to photograph progress from above seemed like the perfect time to get one. I also planned to use it to film action shots of different athletic activities to complement my GoPro footage. Having never flown a drone before, I wanted something easy to learn and control. I wasn’t focused on super, ultra high quality images, but I wanted something that took good pictures and also has a gimbal mounted camera for smooth video. This checks all those boxes for me while being affordable and easy to transport. I’ve played video games for decades and would compare the flight and remote function to that of just about any flying vehicle in a 3rd or 1st person game. It’s very intuitive and was super easy for me to pick up on day 1. The pictures and video are perfect for what we were looking for, and I’m confident I made the best choice for the price range I was aiming for. The only con in terms of control is that the gimbal mounted camera is pretty heavy compared to the drone as a whole, so it tends to carry its momentum a little longer than I anticipated initially. Once you adjust to the fact it’s not going to stop on a dime from full speed, it’s very easy to maneuver. ... show more

The drone is easy to learn, especially if you’re not a beginner. I wouldn’t recommend this drone for beginners BUT I would get it once you have already had at least one other drone, so in other words I would definitely get it once you leave the “beginner phase”. The remote control is probably my favorite part of the whole kit (obviously the drone too), with it being unique. Most controllers have the phone placement on either the top or bottom of the controller, but with this one you rest or embed the phone in the controller which is very clever of Potensic. The drone battery is pretty cool, with it being heavier than it looks and it has just under 30 minutes of flight time to ensure a satisfying flight and flying experience. Theres only one problem I have with this drone, and its not even the drone itself - it’s actually the carry case. I wish Potensic made it bigger so that the propellers can stay on the motors when transporting, but instead I have to constantly take the propellers off right before transportation and put them back on every time Im ready to fly. This can get annoying from time to time but it is what it is. Overall though, this drone and kit is definitely worth buying for the price and did not disappoint. ... show more

Don't waste your money like me you will don't know what you will get a used one or refurbish one I have a $50 drone working %100 much better then this one and I don't have any problem with it . I got one with damaged case ( I said not big deal) , have problem make a successful connection with my iPhone 15 and remote control I tried different iPhone than another problem showed very bad satellite reception signal even in open area, very cheap communication cable, I have additional battery should be new but has a short life time with damaged LED light charge indicator, weak camera connection signal I contact the customer support they were agree my a broken controller but they would not take action because I bought from amazon they wouldn't take action trying to wave them responsibility and hold it to a others? it is your product you have take care ? Many of my friends have same problem all feeling we did a mistake bought this product . I recommend if any one did mistake and bought one soon as you get it open it and test it if any problem you have return it right away not like me after awhile I thought I bought good product I don't have to worry, you spend good amount of money you have to get good product. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For starters: THIS IS NOT A TOY. If you're looking for something for your kids, be sure they are already practiced in drone piloting and safety. (With its weight it does have to be registered with the FAA which now requires the T.R.U.S.T Safety registration as well). The photos taken aren't artsy, just my first test flight. That being said, I love this drone. My first drone was an inexpensive sporty flying drone which I used to get used to piloting. I upgraded to this drone since I am now committed to the hobby. I gave it four stars because I always feel there's room for improvement on any kind of device. As far as features, it can practically fly itself. I liked it because it has all the auto home features: One key home return, loss GPS signal return home, low battery return, as well as recording it's last landing position in the event you lose it. I love the Waypoint feature the most which enables you to map a flight path and let it fly itself so you can concentrate on photography. You can snap photos with either your phone or the one key press on the bottom of the remote, as well as very easy dials for camera tilt and brightness control. My first flight was in 10 mph wind conditions and it stayed in place very well. So it is really good wind resistant as well. Those are my personal pros. Cons are sometimes the connection will fail once or twice or I get a low GPS signal. However that may even be due to my phone and not the controller. You do not need to have service on the phone to work. It has it's own signal. As long as you have a good GPS signal you're good to go. It does not need WIFI. I highly recommend watching the tutorials first and getting used to the app before going out and flying. All in all I feel it is worth the investment by far. ... show more
