  • Well-Designed Bee Waterer (Read Tips!) Well-Designed Bee Waterer (Read Tips!)
I couldn't be happier with the quality of these bee watering stations! We tested them with a standard 16 oz (pint) Mason jar, a large grassfed yogurt jar from the local farm, and a wide mouth Mason jar. All fit perfectly. You could probably also use a spaghetti sauce jar if rinsed well. Tips for filling: Use fresh water and replace regularly to prevent algae or bacteria growth. A shady spot is best, but near flowers or plants the pollinators enjoy works as well. Be sure to place it on a level surface. A flagstone, small piece of wood, or metal structure all work well. One the jar is filled, turn the bee waterer upside down and secure it into place. Put a palm onto the bottom of the silicone part and flip the entire thing upright, keeping your hand in place. This is best completed over the sink or outside because a tiny bit of water will escape. When placing onto the prepared level surface, slide your hand out from under the bee waterer and adjust as necessary. We have seen only one bee enjoying the water so far, but there are lots of butterflies and bees in our yard, so I anticipate more finding it soon. The tiny reservoirs are just large enough for the insects to drink while preventing drowning. This also minimizes evaporation meaning you fill less frequently. Do keep the water clean though! These tiny reservoirs will be trick to completely clean if you don't. ... show more

  • My bees aren't really using it.....
This is a great concept, but when you first put the jar on a flat surface with this silicone drinking pad, it leaks a lot. It seems like you can use a regular or wide mouthed mason jar with this feeder. (It just comes with the pads. You provide the jars.) I like that it holds a lot of water, but my honeybees still prefer their old small plastic waterers and the new flower bee drinking stakes that I got for them. I placed this with their other waterers, but they just don't seem to like it (Maybe they don't like the color or the material?) I hope that they do start using these more, because I got them so I wouldn't have to refill their water as often. If they do use this waterer more, I will update my review. So far, it's kind of a bust, unfortunately. ... show more

  • Simple Bee Watering Station That Helps Provide a Safer Water Source Simple Bee Watering Station That Helps Provide a Safer Water Source
Story / Use Case: I picked up these bee watering stations to provide a reliable water source in the garden without bees gathering around pet bowls or other outdoor water containers. The mason jar setup was easy to assemble, and the anti-drowning design helped give bees a place to drink safely. They worked well near flower beds and pollinator-friendly garden areas. What I Like: - Simple design is easy to set up with common mason jars. - Anti-drowning feature provides a safer drinking surface for bees. - Compatible with both regular and wide-mouth jars. - Silicone material is easy to clean and reuse. - Helps attract pollinators to garden areas. - Two-pack allows placement in multiple locations. Tips / Technical Notes: - Place the watering station near flowers but away from high-traffic walkways. - Cleaning and refilling regularly helps keep the water source attractive to pollinators. - Small stones or shaded placement nearby can help reduce water evaporation. - Works well in vegetable gardens, flower beds, and backyard pollinator habitats. - Starting early in the season helps bees establish the location as a regular water source. Bottom Line: A simple and effective bee watering solution that provides pollinators with a safer water source while supporting a healthier backyard garden environment. ... show more

  • Suppliment my growing pollinator garden
I really like the idea behind this bee feeder, and I think it will work wonderfully for the right setup. It’s very simple and attaches easily to a mason jar you already own, which I like because it's easy to store when not in use. Of the times I've set it up, it doesn't leak and attracts the small amount of bees that I was already seeing hovering around my plants. I bought this because I’m slowly building up a garden, and there are always a few bees visiting the plants and flowers I’ve managed to establish so far. I liked the thought of giving them another little place to visit when flowers aren’t in bloom. I'm don't fully trust myself to remember to refill it daily and I've read stories of impatient bees waiting for feeders to be refilled, so I figured I should use a larger mason jar with it. I also haven’t found the perfect spot for it yet because the more shaded areas in my yard gets very high winds, and I need a more sheltered area where it won’t get knocked over in a gust but also isn't directly on the ground for other "friends". That said, I will absolutely use this regularly once more of my landscaping is finished. I think this is a thoughtful, well-made product that will probably work very well for people who already have a protected garden space set up or who will more reliably fill a smaller mason jar : ) ... show more

  • Quality product to help feed/water the bees.
This review is for "2Pcs Bee Watering Station for Mason Jar, Silicone Bee Feeder for Outside Garden, Anti-Drowning Hive Feeder Compatible with Regular & Wide Mouth Canning Jars, Beekeeping Supplies for Backyard" I have been a bee keeper since 2020 and I like trying new (for me) items to support my bees better and to make things easier for me. In order to supply water to bees, two things need to happen 1. provide a save place that the bees won't drown 2. make it easy to refill This product does both of these. It provides a large pad where many bees can land on to access the water or sugar water. One thing that I like is that the beekeeper can use either a large or regular mouth mason jar. I have a 1/2 gallon large mouth mason jar that works perfectly and is large enough that I don't have to replace it very often. If feeding sugar water, make sure that this doesn't create a feeding frenzy but instead use it as a top feeder so only the hive can get to it. The product is made of quality silicone and the manufacture of the product is good. I expect to be using this product in my apiary for many years. ... show more

  • Works better than expected. Works better than expected.
I was a little surprised that the product was made of silicon. It really feels like it’s not going to hold a seal. I tested it for a week by filling it with water and putting a paper towel under it to see if it would leak. The paper towel around it stayed completely dry and the water level never dropped. Product passed with 100% success. I have tried it outside and don’t have any bees coming to it yet. It’s still a little early for bees so I wasn’t really surprised. From what I am seeing it looks like it’s going to work well. I do like that it’s made from silicon. This should help it hold up pretty well in the heat. In other words it won’t melt or crack and fall apart as a lot of other outdoor products do. Overall I like this product. The only downside I have is the price. It’s such a simple product that the price point needs to stay low. It’s great that they include two platforms but for what you’re getting it feels like it should be a little lower in price or include three. ... show more

  • It Works Once Set Down, but Turning It Over Creates a Mess It Works Once Set Down, but Turning It Over Creates a Mess
I really wanted to love this bee watering station, and while I can say that it ultimately works for me, my feelings on it are a bit "meh." The design concept is great—the hexagonal honeycomb shape is meant to give the bees a safe, non-slip platform to drink from without the risk of drowning, which I really appreciate. Once the feeder is completely set down on the ground or a flat surface, the vacuum seals properly, and the water stays securely inside the jar and the silicone base just like it is supposed to. However, the process of getting it set up can be frustrating. I have tried using two different sizes of mason jars, and every single time I flip the jar over to place it in the garden, water goes everywhere. It doesn't seem to hold the liquid back very well during that initial inversion, which leads to a mess and wasted water. I am going to keep trying to see if I can perfect my flipping technique, but right now, it's a bit too clumsy to use for a 5-star rating. It does the job once it's in place, but be prepared for a bit of a spill when you set it up! ... show more

  • Fabulous watering stations for your bees ! Fabulous watering stations for your bees !
So I really really like these watering stations for my bees ! I have been giving them water in a very shallow dish with water but even with maybe a 1/4 in of water in that dish I would find bees fighting for their lives sometimes drowning in that little bit of water. This absolutely solves that issue and also at the same time gives a much increased capacity of water that I don’t have to fill very often. They are super flexible silicone and easy to clean also. Super easy to use simply slip a standard mason jar on the end and you’re good to go. Bees of course need water and will always go to the closest source of that water and well if that is your neighbors pool guess what lol that will be where they go. Keep them safe and close to the hive by using this pack of watering stations. I would highly recommend this product as it’s a great value for the money. ... show more
