Killed my old (very old) shredder while attacking a huge pile of documents I've been hoarding for way too long. Ordered a new shredder, and returned it after one day's worth of use. It became obvious immediately that it was underpowered and finicky. The BONSEN became its replacement. Considerably more expensive, but well worth it. The machine's air cooled motor (with built in vent) is well designed, and the shredder's feature of running the cutters in reverse immediately after feeding pauses does a very good job of clearing out the cutters automatically. The other thing I like is the large capacity bin that pulls out from the front of the machine for quick, neat emptying. This one is a keeper, and well worth the extra cost. ... show more

Our older shredder went kaput, so looked for micro shredder to deter dumpster diving for bank and other financial data. It's very quiet, with a see through panel for emptying. One quirk on assembly, when attaching head to top of container. It stuck and small pics weren't very helpful. So I love this shredder. It seriously makes it smaller than anything I’ve ever shredded before with other shredders. I love and would recommend. Bought this on a big sale. It runs and runs and runs. I didn’t think 20 minutes was a long time until I started shredding paper for 20 minutes at a time. This thing is quiet compact and has exceeded my expectations.

Needed a new cross cut shredder. This one is so quiet. One can actually have music/tv on while using and actually hear it. My old one that was not possible. This cuts up into confetti size for perfect security size if worried about identity theft issues. I highly recommend this one.

I chose this shredder because it claimed to be "super quiet." Honestly, this machine is quieter than I hoped. Its sheet limit is a little lower than I wanted, but the lack of noise, even when shredding expired debit or credit cards, it really the most important feature to me.
