I ordered these ahead of hurricane season so we can have some additional light when the power inevitability goes out. We have some flashlights and lanterns around the house but most if not all require batteries so when power goes out we deal with either weak lights from low batteries or searching the house in the dark for replacements. These lanterns solve those issues for us. They’re small and lightweight, easy for a kid to hold, but very bright. They charge quickly, have several light modes and can function as a power bank.     • Strong Durable and Bright Light for Hours

I live in earthquake country so outages are a given, especially during a fire. I also fear electrical outages after dark almost more than anything else. The result is that I have an ever-growing collection of chargeable lanterns and flashlights, and I am always looking to add not just more but more of a better quality. This “camping” lantern fits the bill very well. It has three settings plus a flash strobe, and very long working times (an amazing 5-7 hours on the brightest setting and up to 24 hours on the low setting). And for the record, all four brightness settings are strong and, well, bright. I wanted to see how it might work in a real setting so I turned off all the interior and exterior lights and then turned this on inside my home. (There are streetlights nearby but my heavy blackout drapes blocked the light from those completely.) I wanted to know if I could easily read something like instructions using just the light. And the result is that yes, even on the lowest setting I was able to easily read a size 10 font and I suspect I could have read an “8” without any problem. The rechargeable battery is excellent but it is impossible to tell when it needs charging until you try it. So like most of my others, I will just routinely charge it once a month to keep it viable. I cannot speak to the water resistance but given the apparent quality of the materials and workmanship (including the plastic components) I believe it. Handling it is easy as it is surprisingly lightweight. And the handle makes carrying it a breeze. I have to say I am impressed by this lantern, so much so that I have already added more to my cart. It may not be able to abolish my fears about too much darkness after dark but it will be my best chance to lessen them. And at this fair price I may just surround myself with them. My initial thought upon unboxing these little camping lanterns was very positive. I like the compact size, nice bail handle that will easily support the lantern in a hanging position, 360* lighting and they just feel well made. They produce a lot of light for such a small lantern. In the description it says stepless dimming, to me that means not having to transition from low to medium to high or another mode. It means you can control the process with either a rotating switch or by depressing the button and it will transition through the modes. This lantern does not have that you have 4 different separate modes that have to be cycled through. And the modes in my opinion are not ideal. It goes from medium to low to high and then strobe. I really hate to be so negative on these little lanterns because I really think they are well built. But please just make them go from low to medium to high and who needs a strobe light while camping? It would be a much better choice to have that changed to an SOS function, you are much more likely to need that than a strobe light. I really like that these can be used as a power bank in an emergency, I like the size and build quality, the amount of light they produce and they are reasonably priced in comparison to other offerings. They show 3 different purchase options, the more you buy the cheaper they become, that is a great savings. Even after all my negative thoughts I still like these little lanterns, as long as they hold up to the test of time, if not an update will follow. If these had just a normal flow from low, medium to high and SOS instead of strobe they would be a solid 5. As they stand now 4🌟’s from me. ... show more

I got these for my kids to use on camping trips or during power outages. They're a nice size and can light up a room, but are small enough for young ones to carry around. There are 4 settings, and they're in an unusal order - Medium, Low, Bright, Strobe. I really don't care for the inclusion of a strobe function - especially when turning them over to kids - but it seems to be an industry standard to include it.
