These little lanterns put off a powerful light, and the handles swing up to make carrying them or hanging them when in use. They do not come with batteries, so I suggest you check your on-hand supply and add them to your order if needed. They take 3 AA batteries per unit, so 12 for the 4 pack I ordered. It would be much easier to install the batteries before the lanterns are needed in a black out. Haven't tried the solar feature, but it makes sense for a natural disaster when you would want to conserve the batteries.

The lamps have strong illumination but their batteries appear not last for long duration. They are charged better and retain energy when use electricity than solar. Broadly speaking, when fully, the light intensity or illumination declines after a few hours (say 2 hours of a continuous use). Besides, the lamp solar review was based on experience in Nigeria where sun intensity is high. The review is between December 8, 2025 to January 9, 2026 and daily use. I think battery storage capacity can be improved upon.

I am really pleased with these little lamps. There are multiple ways to charge them - batteries, usb cable, or just sit them out and let them soak up solar light or just your household electric lights! I charged a couple with the usb cable, but the other two I just set out and they absorbed light from my overhead lights and were just as bright! These have a nice compact design, such that you can set them in multiple rooms of your house to have ready should your power go out! And when you turn them on, they are so bright!

So, I snagged this LETMY lantern. It was a good deal but has one big problem. Good Stuff: Small, light, and seriously bright out of the box. Easy to use, feels solid. Bad Stuff: Major issue: it seriously gets dim after an hour, totally messing up long-term use. My Two Cents: Fine for quick light or backup. But for long-lasting, steady light, definitely look elsewhere—that dimming makes it unreliable.
