We take this light camping. Wish it came with a hook to easily keep overhead in our tent but it is bright. The fan is nice when you are holding it closer to yourself as it is hard to feel the fan when you are more than 4 foot away from the fan.

    • It's ok as a fan and great as a light.
I use this when I camp and the one complaint i have is that the hook attachment piece doesn't stay locked into place and it is constantly falling off. The fan works good and the light feature is definitely bright. It takes a pretty hefty battery and the fan consumes this battery life really quickly. Batteries aren't cheap so would I recommend this to anyone? No, I would say find something that does something similar and uses an usb charge. ... show more

    • MUCH better than my original Coleman 4D cell ceiling fan / light.
So I have been an avid camper for decades. When Coleman introduced the 4D powered LED lantern / ceiling fan I guess it was 15 - 20 years ago, I grabbed one. I was NEVER happy with anything about it. It went through batteries FAST, it didn't produce much light at all, and it sure didn't push enough air. Yes it was fan shaped, but it was a poor fan. And to top it off, it required this funky magnet to hang it from the ceiling of your tent. But modern tents come with hanger loops.... So I have been contemplating getting a new ceiling fan. And this one had great reviews. I ordered it. And got some Lithium D cells for it. Everything except maybe the type of plastic they used is better about this fan / light than the Coleman. As much as I was displeased with the old Coleman, I am thoroughly pleased with this. The swing out hook easily mounts to a mounting loop or gear loft. The base pivots to allow to use as a desk fan. It moves a good amount of air for a tent. Seriously if you have like a 10x14 tent like I do, get 2 of them, put one on each hanger loop on the sides and set them on low. If you are like me, even when it is cold out, you have to have air moving when you sleep. These things are an absolute blessing. ... show more

Can I just tell you how happy I was to get this lamp. Kona gets hot and this lantern with fan helped cool me during the mornings I wanted to sleep in while camping! I used this for my camping trip and hung it on the top of my two man tent. My dad is currently using this fan at home while he watches his TV lol. Great purchase and will have to purchase another one soon. It's not a light weight lamp but light enough to hang on the top of my tent. ... show more
