    • Fantastic lights at a bargain price; I love them
I bought a four-pack of these Etekcity lanterns years ago and I love them. In fact I returned here today to purchase some more of them for a couple of my relatives. I have used mine for power outages due to severe winter weather and thunderstorms and these lights performed beautifully and illuminated the entire downstairs. One of my neighbors actually came over and asked if my electricity had somehow been restored and of course I said no, and that I have these awesome lanterns that throw a surprisingly amount of nice white light. He thought I had somehow had my power restored or that maybe I had a generator running because my downstairs looked so bright. He was so impressed that he ordered a four-pack of them too. I particularly like that the hue of these lanterns is a "cool white" which is a very white light; not that awful yellowish tint which I cannot stand. These are a nice white light similar to a fluorescent light. I'm pleased that these little lanterns throw a lot of white light. And the batteries will last quite a while too. I ran one of mine as a test for close to 50 hours non stop to see how long the batteries would last. I have Eneloop high capacity rechargeable batteries installed in mine and it works out very well as those are a very low self discharge type of battery and they hold their charge extremely well. LED's don't use a lot of "juice" so you'll get a lot of bang for your buck with these lanterns. You certainly cannot beat the price of them. I bought a four-pack of Etekcity lanterns 1 year ago and they’ve been amazing. They lit up my entire downstairs during power outages so well that a neighbor thought I had a generator! The cool white light is bright and clean—much better than the yellowish tint of other lanterns. I use Eneloop rechargeable batteries and got nearly 50 hours of continuous use from one lantern. Buy these! We bought a second order because they are so handy and everyone in my family uses them loads. They have magnets on them to easily position them under cabinets when doing auto work, they light up under cabinets for plumbing work. The kids use them a bunch to carry around when playing at night. Often we hang them from trees to light up an area when entertaining. Of course they’re super handy during storms when the electricity is out. They are SO bright and light up large areas. These things are so convenient for home and camping. One sits in my night stand drawer and is my first line back up light source. For camping, these things are great for hanging in the middle of your tent and then just pulling down on them when you need light. Plenty bright and takes AA batteries. Easier than fumbling around in the dark for your flashlight or headlamp (which I also use, I just think this thing wins on convenience). ... show more
