This seems like a great option for seeding a large area. The instructions are a tad confusing but ultimately everything went together well and makes sense. In the fall I trenched in about 800 feet of water line. With the settling over winter I plan to grade everything out this spring and get seed down nice and early. It's a hilly area and I think this looks like it will hold up a lot better than trying to use the push style spreaders. The bag is made from a nice heavy fabric and the controls are simple but functional. With snow on the ground I can't test it out yet, but am looking forward to getting a bunch of seed and fertilizer down in the spring. It seems this is a nice durable unit and a good value.

This spreader has a very heavy duty waterproof bag that zippers shut to protect unused fertilizer or seeds until needed for next use. The shoulder strap makes it easy to support while spreading. It takes about 5 minutes to assemble. It comes with minimal assembly and use instructions. It is adjustable for different size and weight product (seeds and fertilizer.) It is just the right size so that it is not too heavy when full but not so small you have to refill so often. This will work well for me as my yard is in a very rough terrain where I cannot use the rolling spreaders.

This has great reviews from other people who are using it for salting the ice, but my experience was... not pleasant. Maybe I got the equivalent of a lemon, maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but I couldn't get it to sit well. I couldn't get anything to come out regardless of setting. The assembly was also weird. I dunno. I was thoroughly disappointed in it, but I'm not sure if it was the bag, or user error. I took one star off because the strap and getting it to sit right was just so frustrating I gave up on being anywhere near comfortable. This just did not work well for my oddly short torso. I'll have to have someone with a normal torso try it, because I do have a very short torso so that might be part of why it just wouldn't work. (I'm 5'3" and wear the same inseam as my 6' husband.) I also took a second star off because I'm not sure the inside coating on the bag for the seed, fertilizer, salt etc is going to last without cracking. It showed stress lines on the inside from being packed that weren't readily apparent on the outside. The bottom also kind of frustrated me with the design. You put a cotter pin (the giant bobby pin kind of things) through a shaft to help hold it together and allow spinning, I kept bumping it when trying to set it down to fill it. I figured it out but I'd love some sort of tray or something to set it on so you aren't lopsidedly crushing the disc and shaft when you're putting 25 pounds in it. I'm going to double check this and see how much was just user error, so I won't mark it down any additional stars for potential user error. If I can get it to work, the current price of about $40 is a fair deal, but if I have the same experience again, it's $40 too much. Here's hoping I got a lemon or that I was just having an off day, cause I really wanted it for my salt and after a thorough cleaning, my garden. I also realized that my pictures of me trying to use it, for better or worse, didn't save properly, so I only have one of it before assembly. You can see in the one picture I have the black disc and the shaft that needs the pin that I was talking about on the left side.

I live out in the country and have a large area to cover with grass.Seed or clover seed at times sometimes the little green cart that you push with grass seed is not efficient for my rocky.Terrain, especially with long distances, it barely fits a ten pound bag in it.I am so thankful to have found this.Carry on seed spreader, you can easily strap it onto your back and carry twenty five pounds of bag seed all at once.With a little crank handle, it evenly distributes the seed across your lawn.The handles are really sturdy and never.Do you think that you're gonna lose your whole pile of seed just by a broken handle. The instructions are super easy to understand and easy to use. I am so thankful to have found this seed spreader.It has completely transformed my gardening process.

I love this spreader. We’re actually using it right now to spread salt to help melt snow, and it works beautifully. The spread is even, the controls are easy to adjust, and it feels comfortable to carry. I have no doubt it’ll work just as well for grass seed and fertilizer once the warmer months roll around. The packaging was also a big win. I’m a huge fan of receiving something from Amazon that isn’t just tossed into a generic brown cardboard box. What a great item this seed spreader is! The quality is evident from the moment you remove it from the box. Unfortunately due to the harsh winter storm we're in we've not yet been able to spread seeds but my husband/farmer' enthusiasm about this speaks volumes. The bag is made of a heavy duty fabric with the other components made of a hard plastic. It did take a bit of time to assemble all the components though so just know you'll be doing some work at the beginning. But the spreader came with good instructions which helped.
