I am a Midwestern gal transplanted to coastal Virginia. I am used to hot, humid weather, but the humidity in my new location does not allow laundry to dry. My new house is 1700 square feet, sitting on an uninsulated crawl space. In my previous location, a dehumidifier located in the basement was capable of bringing the indoor relative humidity down to 35 or 40%. In my new location, this small, mighty dehumidifier makes a difference but cannot reduce the indoor humidity lower than about 55% during the summer months. The unit runs constantly and produces tank after tank of water that it has removed from the environment. I would recommend this unit highly but think that it is no match for the amount of humidity it has to deal with here. When it comes to humidity, maybe it is all relative? Pun intended. The person who installed my new HVAC system in the Virginia house told me that I would not need a dehumidifier in coastal Virginia. I think that he grew up in the South and our ideas of comfortable humidity settings are quite different. Running this unit constantly heats up the room where it is located but that is probably true for any dehumidifier that someone might purchase. I think that once I get past the summer months, this little dehumidifier will be just fine and capable of reducing the relative humidity to 40% or lower. The settings on the unit suggest it can go down to 30%. I might need a second unit to give this one some help.

This dehumidifier works well in our 2000 sq ft basement. I was pleased at how lightweight it was to be able to carry down the stairs. It is set up to drain directly into the sump pump, but you can also empty it manually. It is so much quieter than our old one. Keeps the basement at a comfortable humidity level.

My basement has high humidity of 80-85% all year round except in winter. It causes mold growth on some furniture and therefore, bought this dehumidifier. It works great and reduces humidity level very quicky. My basement size is 500 sq. ft. with one opening to the stairwell. Even with that this gadget is doing its job easily. I like the controls it has and the hose attachment so I can use a 5 gallon bucket as a catch pan for longer unattended use. Recommend this product.

This unit was our second attempt at a dehumidifier. The first was too small & a total crash & burn. This unit works far better with the drain hose attached, as the reservoir is too small to hold much water. It took several gallons of water a day out of home. My estimate would be about a quart every three to four hours. We drained it into a shower, then the kitchen sink to keep it working continuously. Again, this unit works well for its size.

I've been using this in a 30' by 50' unfinished basement for a month or so, and have been pleasantly surprised at how efficient it seems, much better than the solid state Peltier effect units that in my experience are not very effective and rarely last more than a season or so. More compact than equivalent solid state units as well. Humidity is maintained quite close to selected value. Unit is quiet, important if you want to use it in a living space. All in all, I am quite pleased with this unit.

This is for the 2500 SF model being used in a 1500 SF unfinished basement (poured concrete foundation relatively new and stable w/6' ceilings). I can only get the RH % down to 49-50 %. I have it set for 45% so its going to run continuously :-(. My own hygrometer says 50-51%, so I believe the dehumid sensor is accurate enough. This is an improvement over the 1500 SF model I had to return that could only get the RH down to 59-60%. Although I think the sensor on that one was not good now that I compare this one in action. Maybe the returned one did a bit better than 59-60 because my own hygrometer ran 53-54%. When I started this process before getting the 1500 SF model. The RH was 67%. When I began using the 2500 SF model, the RH started out at 60%, to give you a sense of what the basement humidity was like with no dehumidifer. Bottom line, for the price and the size, 51% is okay. But you may want to consider a larger model to get better results if your basement is like mine or you want to hit a lower target. This model was just manageable in size and weight for me to get it down the basement safely myself, which was an important consideration. p.s. the company was great when evaluating and returning the smaller model that didn't cut it

Good dehumidifier. Removes 2 gallons a day in a 1500sqft upstairs near Houston. Catch bucket is small, so I have it raised and dumping by hose into a 5 gallon bucket. The unit is set at 45% and that's about what my indoor reading is on my weather station. I do run it on high and constant run setting. The only problem was it being shipped on it's side (This End Up can't be seen if it's in a second box) and the bucket cover fell out of place and made it hard to open it originally.
