These work really well. I didn't wait 2 days. I had them ready to post up within 6 hours. After pulling it out of the plastic they began to rise by themselves. I quicken the process by simply gently pulling the stubborn corners in each direction. I also got them to fluff evenly all around by gently tugging opposite corners as well as the mid left side to right side. Pulling too hard would probably rip it. To rid of the smell quickly I stood each square upright in my bathroom-- some against the wall, and some leaning on each other-- so it can air out. The major thing that helped here is that I have an exhaust fan in the bathroom, and so by closing the door it sucked air through the foam even more quickly. Didn't have to stink up the house or leave it outside where allergens might grab on. As for adhesion, the thing that worked for me was letting spray adhesive on the backside, and then using velcro with the adhesive backs on them. This doesn't cancel out noise completely like some people expect here... but it definitely does a great job dampening to a large extent. I have thin windows, and the neighbor hasn't had a problem with me since.

The media could not be loaded. The smell isnt great, and it takes a day to expand, but it's worth the price and effort. Dont get 'spun up' regarding how long it takes for the foam tiles to expand. A sound engineer will tell you there are only two ways to get these to the intended size and shape: 1. Wait. Let them sit in your garage or patio because the smell can be a bit 'much'. It will normally be 12-48 hours for full expansion. 2. Wrinse & Dry. Think of them like a new sponge. Dunk them in a bucket or sink until they expand. Squeese them if necessary to expand stubborn flat spots. Then, toss them in the dryer at a low-to-medium setting for about 25 to 30 minutes. I was afraid to run them any longer because I pictured a melted blob in my dryer if I did it for too long. The result was that I had to dry them in batches several times. BELIEVE IT OR NOT... No. 2 is actually the easier way. I rated adhesion and absorbency as 1/5 because they dont come with adhesive, and absorbency is not their intended purpose. If you need to mount these (and I cant see how you wouldnt need to) it is my highest recommendation to use Scotch 6065 Spray Adhesive REPOSITIONABLE. Elmers & Loctite also sell a similar product but it does not hold as well - you actually cant mount these using Elmers & Loctite if you follow the directions on the can. This is why I recommend using the Scotch 6065 for mounting. As acoustic treatment, these panels work just as well as any other more expensive brand. Dont believe the hype about expensive acoustic treatments. There may be SOME difference between the pyramid and the wedge style of foam panels, but trust me that the difference is negligible. I purchased these to put on a window facing a very noisy street. They help reduce the noise a bit but I also have sealed the window and put up a noise reducing curtain so I am unsure how much noise they are actually blocking. They don't have glue or glue backing, so I had to this myself, which is fine but my main issue is the fumes emitted from the chemicals on them. The first night I slept with them on the window I had a horrible migraine from the fumes. I thought about returning them but I really need them because the street noise is unbearable on my bedroom. I've been aerating the room and running two air purifiers but night 3, I have a migraine again from the fumes. If it keeps happening I may need to reconsider.

Works ad advertised, did not have adhesive issues as I used straight pins to tack them onto the wall. For those having issues with pinched corners, lay the panels out on the floor and then pinch and tug from oposite sides of the triangle this will fill those areas with air and will allow it to size up to match the others.

Lots to not like about this product. For one the 2 inches is BS and measured from bottom to tip of point. I was expecting this to be 2 inches thick and then the point. Some of the panels did not expand fully. Most of them did but out of 2 packs there were 5 that decided it wasn't their duty after 2 days. The product didn't come with any adhesion tape or tabs.....and there is good reason. Nothing sticks to these panels. I purchased the 3M tabs separately. Don't bother as those don't work at all. In fact they are even worse than working because they remain stuck for about an hour and then the foam panels fall off them while the tabs remain stuck to your wall. Fortunately, this was done in a shed where I could get out the old staple gun and go to work. After spending an entire afternoon putzing around with these panels the ultimate test......does it dull sound. Hardly at all. Maybe if I had spent a million dollars enveloping the shed with these things there might be a slight sound reduction but just doing 2 walls didn't do anything....It looks cool and maybe it provides a tad bit of insulation but I certainly wouldn't buy any more of these.

I should’ve been more careful in reading the product details. Unfortunately, they didn’t meet my needs. by the time I opened them, it was too late to return them depending on what you’re using for what determine how they would be rated. Definitely not soundproofing.

Used this within a temporary wall, the panels come vacuum packed, I installed them with staples, no adhesive was provided. It was a big difference with limiting sounds before and after the install.

I’ve had mixed results with the foam panels I’ve ordered on Amazon. These are great. They expanded immediately to their promised 2” thickness upon removal from the vacuum-sealed plastic. No extra effort needed! These are the ones I will keep buying!
