  • Protecting Our Foundation!
So we got this downspout extension to protect our house's foundation from water and moisture, as we just had mold remediation in our basement and we want to keep things dry. This extension comes in two parts that click together, and it's super easy to just slide under the downspout. It has two plastic screws that you knock into the ground to hold it in place. The product seems well made with sturdy plastic, so I'm expecting it to do the trick while lasting for a long time. It's also easy to keep clean of debris. That said, I have hose extenders on my other two downspouts which are much longer, and although I prefer those, this one will certainly help divert water at least a couple of feet away from the foundation. ... show more

  • Tough to Assemble
I would say this downspout extension is a little bit thicker plastic than the other ones I have, but I would not call it "heavy duty". It IS nice and wide, which is nice because it should be able to handle wider downspouts than the standard size. This item arrives in two piece that must be snapped together. I had a pretty hard time getting them snapped together and I'm generally good at assembling things. The spikes are nice to help keep the item in place during use. They could be very useful for situations where a downspout comes down near a foundation with a basement to ensure the downspout extension stays in place to avoid basement flooding. ... show more

  • Redirect Your Rain
This is definitely helping keep rain from pouring out of the gutter and splashing a big hole in the dirt below. We’ve had a ton of rain here this spring and the bare ground beneath one downspout was being forced all over the driveway. Yep, a mess. This helps direct the water onto the driveway where it’s not a problem. I didn’t have the same issue snapping mine together as some reviewers had. It wasn’t effortless but it went together pretty easily the first go. The plastic seems fairly sturdy but I’m docking a star because the current price of 20 bucks seems high for this. I haven’t priced these elsewhere but it seems like a lot for what it is. Having said that it does what it says so I’m happy with performance! ... show more

  • Size matters
WAY bigger than I imagined! The width allows for more than enough room for water coming down from the gutter downspout. It easily snaps together and comes with two ground screws to secure the bottom end into the ground. It fits well below the current downspout, and definitely will divert water as much away from the foundation as it can. I have to dig the area a bit to create a downhill slope, because right now, it will flow down, but then just pool at the bottom and eventually end up at the foundation. There was a bush right in the path of the downspout, so now it comes down to removing the stump in order to het the perfect downslope it requires. Hopefully, I can make it before the next rain! I can’t wait to see it in action! ... show more

  • No more trenches, where the water comes out of the gutters. This thing works great find stars.
This is very nice. It definitely makes a big difference when the water comes out. The gutters really moving. It takes it and moves it away from the house, and it also gives you the s long plastic nails to keep it in place and it works, it comes into pieces, connect them together and align it with the gutter. And then place the 2 nails and the holes at the end and knock them in. And it's good for a long time. The best thing is it gets the water away from the house without destroying the yard. So it definitely definitely works. Highly recommended should last a long time. Solve the problems. I've got our digging into the yard five star ... show more

  • check the measurements
I bought these for the color because our house has black trim and the ones we have are an ugly brown. This black color is very nice, but these are much shorter than usual. They won't re-direct the water very far

  • Works, but cheaply made
The reason I gave this five stars is because it is a very thin plastic and it's cheaply made. It comes in two pieces and they snap together. The two plastic nails to hold it down sort of work I guess but definitely won't if you have hard ground. Also plastic is kind of warped. I did get it to go together and it does drain water away from the house but if you don't pin it down to the ground, wind can blow it away ... show more

  • Heavy Duty
This down spout extension is heavy duty and quite large. It’s made of a very durable plastic with ridges to slow the flow of water. The length is long and good. Its comes as two separate pieces that easily pop together. You could use only one if space is an issue. It comes with a couple of spikes to place at the end of the spout to hold it in place. We haven’t had any rain but I’m sure it will do as it should. A good looking downspout. The brown color is a welcome change from the usual white colors and blends nicely with the landscaping. ... show more
