Living on a 130 acre lake in the midwest its unbelievable the amount scenery and wildlife changes that happen. We have always used just a cheapy pair of compact binoculars picked up at a dept store a few years ago. After reading a bunch of information it was finally time to upgrade this set with something better. After reading the reviews I needed something that was variable as we have geese to watch a few hundred yards away but we also have alot of wildlife at our pier 50 yards away so I settled on trying out this pair simply because the distance was adjustable. Taking them out of the box I was impressed with the overall build. All the seams are tight. All the adjustments are smooth gliding and this set has a bit of weight knowing they are well made. After a quick read of the simple instruction sheet it was out to the front yard. Having the strength variable is fantastic as looking close on the weakest setting if a sound is heard on the other side of the lake a quick scan and once the object is located a simple slide of the right eyepiece lever and you can literally watch the object get closer as the strength is increased. An absolutely incredible idea as it makes this set universal from close bird watch to distant sights across lakes , fields etc. I am extremely happy with this set and its price point as I didnt know what to expect and if i had known i would have grabbed this set years ago ! We own some excellent quality binoculars, Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars, however; I find them very heavy and was looking for something more lightweight. These binoculars are very nice and lightweight, however; the magnification which is supposed to be 20 X magnification is way less than our Celestron SkyMaster Giant at 15 X magnification. Even if we didn't have anything to compare these binoculars to I think we'd still be questioning the magnification. They seem to be more like 10 X magnification at best. All that being said, the weight is nice and they are very clear and we've decided not to return them but if you're looking for stronger magnification for longer distances keep shopping. FYI with Binoculars the first number indicates the strength of magnification (how many times closer the subject is to you, 5 times closer, 7 times closer, 10 times closer) and the second number is the size of the objective lens measured in millimeters going across the lens. The size of the objective lens will determine how much light the binocular can obtain for effective viewing. The higher the number, the larger the lens; in effect allowing more light to pass through thereby projecting a brighter image and viewing experience. However, binoculars with smaller lenses are more compact and portable. ... show more

Size: 20X50 binoculars
Amazing clarity. The only negative is inaccurate description. It is not 20 magnification - only 10, my Bushnell 12x42 gives high magnification. I got also Bushnell 20x50 which is true 20, But clarity of this one is so great that you can see more details with it.
