We have pretty hard water here but that said bottom cleaner is an absolute "must have" for any pool. So when we saw this we grabbed it right up. We currently have a vacuum/hose attached to the pool side with a long "snake" that goes to the bottom for cleaning. It works great but it's a bit of a pain to swim around it and it's not easy to take it out or plug it in. So this seems like it might be a good alternative. I really like the looks of this cleaner a lot. It's very well built. All the parts fit straight and tight. The handle is plenty robust. It's quite heavy that is mostly due to the battery and large heavy duty motor. This keeps it on bottom quite well. The instructions are pretty poor at best. They give you 6 screws, four of which are used by the handle but the last two are a bit confusing. I was at first thinking it was two extra screws in case you lose one. But then I opened the two small orange "doors" on it, only to find they has two empty threaded screw posts that look like they do nothing...they don't attached to anything in any way that I can see. Unfortunately there is nothing in the instructions about these doors. Overall it cleans quite well with it's own pattern. I do wish it had more battery capacity but it is enough to work on our fairly large pool, but it would be nice if it could do two cleanings before charging again. From a value standpoint it seems right in line with similar products. That said, there are a couple things I don't like. First, I wish it used a more generic charger and charger plug. I really wish it was like a cellphone charger so you don't have to hunt around for the charger if you misplace it. I also wish the charging plug jack was accessible from the exterior with a sealing cap. Currently you have to take the top off to charge and there is no water proof seal. It's not a game changer but it could be an issue if water leaks inside it. Lastly I wish I knew what the two orange doors with screw posts are for.

When this first arrived, I did my typical initial inspection and didn't find any major issues or defects that would render this unusable or unsafe to use. At this price point (~$200), I believe this is an average value. However, currently there is a coupon available for $40 off bringing the price down to $159.99 and making this a really good value. Once lowered into the water, it operates largely autonomously. With its dual motors engaged, the overall cleaning efficiency is quite respectable; it doesn't give you that frustrating impression of moving around without actually picking anything up—it is certainly sufficient for routine pool maintenance. I also find the 120-minute battery life to be a significant plus; for typical above-ground or flat-bottomed in-ground residential pools, this is generally enough to cover most daily cleaning requirements, so you don't have to constantly worry about it running out of power before the job is done. I’m also a big fan of the cordless design; without any cables dragging around, the entire operation feels much cleaner and more streamlined. It’s convenient to both place into and retrieve from the pool, eliminating the hassle of tangled cords or awkward maneuvering. The unit features two distinct cleaning paths—while this may not sound like a particularly flashy feature on paper, in practice, you can really tell that it isn't just wandering around aimlessly. It demonstrates a degree of intelligent planning, resulting in a cleaning performance that feels much more reliable and reassuring than that of the most basic models. The "auto-parking" feature is also highly practical; at the very least, when the battery runs low, you don't have to go fishing around the pool to find it—retrieval becomes much easier. These small details really add value and make for a much more effortless user experience during day-to-day use.
