  • It works great for the price, does a lot
Color: Black
For the price this is a good deal. Its basically a powkitty rgb20sx. Ive played with it for about 2 days. My experience has been good so far. Out of the box it just works with plenty of games to try out from different emulators. Ive put of some roms onto the SD its organized out of the box as well. My experience is any of the older nes, she's, Genesis work great. It has been a hit and miss with n64. Some games play fine, others have a noticeable stutter and some just freeze. Dreamcast works with a little stutter but playable. Same with psp. Playstation 1 works great tho. The d pad, triggers and buttons are OK. A little cramped and not the best if you use the joysticks and have to use the triggers. The joysticks seem and look like joy con ones, dont know if there will be drift. The screen is really clear it looks great. Has 1 speaker its loud enough. It stays charged for a while. I just use my fast charge usb samsung charger its fine. I think I got 7 or 8 hours on it. However it doesn't keep track of battery life and mine flashes red saying its at 0% but works for another hour or 2. Its nice to be able to play some old games again on it. Comes with JelOS paired with Retroarch. The FN key doesn't do anything. Would've been nice if it brought up the retroarch menu instead of clicking in the 2 joysticks. But it comes with a case. ... show more

  • Really nice retro console
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. Really good quality retro player. Has a huge library of games from different consoles. The buttons and controls feel really nice and comfortable. The screen is huge on this thing compared to other retro consoles this size. Very high quality screen. Very bright and sharp. Plays games from PlayStation to gamboy to Nintendo 64 and so far has been able to play everything wonderfully. No hiccups no issues whatsoever. Also the speakers are pretty nice. Not crazy loud but nice and crisp. Overall I recommend this to anyone that just wants to play some old school games. Came with a nice carrying case and usb c charger ... show more

  • Not the best OS.. could use improvement - BUT EXCELLENT customer service
Color: Blue
****UPDATE seller went out of their way to make this better. Although I had already replaced the gift with another item, they went above and beyond to fix the issue. Excellent customer service! Added a few stars because of this. The operating system is super glitchy. Cool concept without the ability to actually play anything. Every game ends up freezing. And if you have to hard restart it it won't turn back on for at least an hour. Bought for my kids birthday and he won't even pick it up because he's so frustrated. The actual instructions have the following warning (which shouldn't be the last thing you see in tiny writing) *see pics I'm so bummed my kids gift was such a let down. ... show more

  • Great 1:1 display handheld gaming console
Color: Black
It is not clear from the product description or branding, but this product is PowKiddy RGB20SX, and is labeled as a RTElectric RGB20SX. It is essentially identical in specification to their RGB30 handheld console, except in a vertical instead of landscape layout. The screen is a beautiful 1:1 ratio screen (720x720) which is great for enthusiasts looking for pixel perfect games for certain older consoles without any scaling or stretching. The processor in this handheld is a decently capable Rockchip RK3566. I found it to handle most systems up to Dreamcast/Naomi and PSP. For Dreamcast and PSP, a lot of games work great to acceptably well with very few that are too processor intensive to be playable. Being the screen is not touch capable, DS based games are playable but not a great experience. Given its size it is not the most portable of handhelds so there is some trade off there. It is pocketable but does require good sized pockets and is best put inside of a small cloth bag to help protect it. The battery life is fairly good and is tracked well in EmulationStation. Audio quality is mono and is passable for a handheld at this price point. There are two slots for TF cards which is fantastic to see, as one card can be dedicated to just game data while the other can be used as a boot card. My main critique is on the button quality. The start and select buttons are great and have a nice click feel to them. The rest have a somewhat mushy feel. This is not so bad for the regular buttons on the front, but the D-Pad in particular I wish was better. It does not have good directional tolerance to it so for precise platformers it can be a little more challenging to not accidentally press a direction not intended. The back triggers are good quality and easy to get to, although I do wish they were slightly more flush with the case to avoid getting snagged on pockets. As for the stock OS, which is identical to the RGB30 configuration, it is decently set up but does leave a bit of tinkering up to the user for some of the emulators that come with it. In particular I found that the Dreamcast emulator was not optimized well and played some of the pre-installed games at poor framerates and audio skipping. The good news however is that because of the chipset used, there are various open-source OS replacements available that will work on this handheld. After replacing the OS on mine without needing to change the ROMs card, I got much better performance out of Dreamcast. So, the performance issues are mainly software related and not necessarily hardware. Another minor critique I have on the default OS configuration is that there is a Fn button on the front of this handheld, but the software is not configured to utilize it as a hotkey. Instead, pressing Start+Select is used by default, which can cause a game to process one of the buttons first unintentionally while playing a game. This is just another software-based configuration issue to work out but would have been nice if it was utilized by default. Yet overall, this is a fantastic platform for retro handheld gaming and works well enough without tinkering that I still recommend it if looking for a decent vertical 1:1 handheld gaming experience. ... show more
