I did a lot of research before deciding on this particular computer. The Ryzen 7 3700X CPU is an equal match for the Intel i7-9700k. The differences that put intel ahead won't be noticed by most humans. It's beautifully constructed and the Nvidia RTX 3060 makes my display look amazing. I put some red LEDs behind my monitor to complement the Omen's programmable lighting. The only thing I would suggest is that HP should develop and include a full-size, RGB gaming keyboard with high-end machines such as this. Something similar to the keyboard on my 17cb003 omen laptop would be perfect and do a lot to promote brand loyalty as well. ... show more

Final Edit: after learning more about PCs and pricing, I can safely say that this is a RIP OFF!! DO NOT BUY!! you can get same specs hundreds of dollars cheaper and that isn't an oven. Original Review and Edit: Decent Pc specs, but there are 0 intake fans??? And there seems to be no place where I could even mount another?! If I'm seeing wrong please correct me. Also, the AMD CPU idles at 60C and spikes close to the 95C limit under gaming load. Worrying. Edit: I fixed the temp problem mentioned above by underclocking but: The BIOS does not allow me to UNDER-CLOCK the CPU for better temps because HP is NOT consumer friendly and thinks people who buy their computers are dumb (I agree, so next time I'm never buying a pre-built, especially not from HP). Now I have to manually start a program for under-clocking every time I start my PC which over the years will eat up hours of my time. ... show more

I did not buy this specific Omen, but I bought one exactly like it about 2 years ago. I am giving it 2 stars because the specs are pretty good for the price, but the problem is the ventilation. If you are new to computers, you may not realize how important good cooling is. A good rule of fan is to have more intake fans than exhaust. This creates positive pressure in the case, ensuring that there is cold air always coming into the case. This case has no intake fans. It is basically an oven for your hardware. When I had this PC, (I have since upgraded to have actually good cooling) my CPU was getting up to 85 degrees Celsius, and there was nothing I could do about it. My room would get so hot to the point where I couldn’t play anymore from how hot it was. Do not buy this PC, and btw, you could get this exact PC for much cheaper if you build it yourself. ... show more

Had this for a while sold it to a friend built one 2 way more powerful.. new one on PC builders, AMD 9 5900x Tuff gamer pro 570.. 32 3600 Ram x 2 nv 1 tb 970 pro nv drives ev 3fan 360 aio, gigabyte 3060 oc 12gb, evo 850 gplus power supply, thermol p3 case and a lg 27 inch 144hz monitor for under 1300...
