I lost a few months work that I had failed to properly back up, and while the repair was covered under warranty, I purchased this Chromebook to complete several projects with looming deadlines. From the moment I unboxed this product, I was impressed. I was fully set up and working within minutes - its full size keyboard and large, bright screen are a joy to use. The only weakness is the subpar speakers, but I couldn’t care less for this price point. I mostly use this machine for heavy word processing, email, managing Google docs, and web browsing. It’s a champ and excels on all fronts. Long battery life, light weight, full size and comfortable to use, bright screen, and easily handles multiple tabs and windows being open. I use this laptop for work in my shop and streaming music more than anything else. It works well but I wish the scroll bar for each window would be larger and/or I could just use the arrow keys to move up and down a page.

We needed a Chromebook, for our kids online learning and this computer has been great. The screen is surprisingly large and clear. It only has 4G of RAM so some applications take a few milliseconds to load, however it is nothing concerning or frustrating. For less than $200, we consider it a good computer at an economical cost.     • Shuts down without warning in Sleep mode while plugged in

I originally gave a great rating, as shown in the bottom paragraph. Unfortunately this model shuts down without warning and everything gets lost. It is plugged in and set to sleep mode. In a few short moments of non-use, it simply shuts down. Older models of Acer gave a longer time until entering sleep mode, and then the screen would darken but in older models all the tabs would stay open. Now, in the blink of an eye, I am getting total shutdowns. So I am rating it a one star - avoid this model. Use for financial reports, so love the numbers key pad. I am a fan of Chromebooks, which do all the software updates and backups for you. This is a great value Chromebook. I also use it to watch Youtube and like the big screen. ... show more
