I wanted to try this water heater stick for a couple reasons. I had read the article articles on what these are good for but for me I wanted to try it for a kids pool and see if this water stick would heat the water up to a nice temperature within a couple hours before using the pool. I have to say it does it twice quite nicely. It says it’s a 2000 W. I believe I’m not sure exactly what that means but this water stick does heat up a small kids pool like 7‘ x 5‘ fairly fast. I would say within an hour it took the edge off the cold water and it was a very nice temperature. These can also be used to heat water for washing dishes and camping and other things by easily sticking them in like a 5 gallon bucket of water. I think I’ll get many uses out of this hot rod stick for heating water :-) very happy to have found it and look forward to trying it especially with camping where we need to heat water outside for doing things. I give it an A+.

I wanted to give it a quick test before I used it, so I put it in about 2 gallons of water in a plastic bucket, which all the instructions emphasize. Results: Starting with 70°F water, it hit 80°F in under 2 minutes, and 90°F another 90 seconds after that. So, +20°F in about 3.5 minutes, hands-off. That was all I wanted to see, how quickly it got going, so I unplugged it after that. Temps were measured with the little thermometer that came in the box, a useful addition. The pics are in a 2 gallon bucket, which is only barely big enough for it. This is my first camp water heater so I don't know if this is big or not, but I'll have to take care when using in small containers. Probably not what it was made for, but it's what I've got! Looking forward to testing it out in bigger bins.

UPDATE: 9/14/25 The seller of this heater went to great lengths to reassure me of the safety of this product. They even sent me the 102-page BST testing report, which in fact showed that this heater passed every single test to which it was submitted. The testing was actually performed in China, but using US standards, and accepted by Amazon according to the seller. The abundance of warnings included with this heater hopefully suffice to convince consumers to avoid all contact with the water while this heater is plugged in, and should be heeded. With this in mind, I have upgraded my review from 1 star up to 4, and will likely try using this heater. Following the seller’s cautions. Original review:/ I’ve seen several 5 star reviews for this item, but frankly, I have some very serious concerns about the actual safety of this immersion heater!! First and foremost: The seller says this heater is UL listed (see photo of listing) - but there is no UL sticker or stamp anywhere on either the box or the actual heater that I received. I tried to look into this further, but there is no manufacturer or model number that I could find in order to verify the claim of UL listing. That by itself would likely be enough to convince me not to use this product. But follow that with the extreme number of warnings and exclamation marks in the instructions and I am completely certain I will never use this heater. I’m attaching photos of the many warnings, but the ones that concern me the very most are all the ones that state, “Always unplug the device and make sure it’s not electrified before touching the water with your body” - in bright red letters!! It doesn’t say to make sure the water isn’t too hot. It says to make sure the device isn’t electrified before touching the water. You don’t have to tell me twice. Although they did.

This portable immersion heater works exactly as advertised. We used it in a 55-gallon tub, and within 15 minutes the water was warm enough for a comfortable soak—no icy baths here. The included thermometer makes it easy to monitor, and I appreciate that it cools down quickly once removed. For us, it’s also serving as a temporary fix instead of rushing to buy a much larger (and more expensive) water heater, which makes it an excellent stopgap solution. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully when drying, storing, and keeping your hands out of the heated water. Overall, it’s a safe, efficient, and reliable way to heat water fast.

I completely misread this when I ordered it. I thought I was ordering a bucket heater to keep my chicken flock's water "not frozen" during the winter months! That being said, I am SO GLAD I picked this up! Getting warm water for bathing both chickens and dogs is always hard without bringing the dirty animal inside the house! To test this heater, I got the coldest water I could from my bathtub, it started at 69.8 degrees (F) and after only 10 minutes, the water had reached 109.0 degrees (F)! Another 5 minutes and I would have been waiting for the water to cool down before bathing a pet or livestock with it. I have a "portable shower" coming and my plan is to pair it with this heater for comfortable bathing during the warm months, which are sadly coming to a close where I live, to keep the added mess out of my home!

I got this to keep the water warm when I'm doing a foot soak. It definitely keeps the water warm. Please read the directions so you don't get hurt. It gets hot. The water in my foot soak got nice and hot rather quickly, this is going to get a lot of use. Wish I had found it sooner.
