    • USE A GFCI outlet
This is a nice solution for heating wading pools or buckets of water for other uses. DO NOT put your hand in the water while this is plugged in. There is no switch on the heater so unplugging it is the only way to make sure there is no electricity going into the heater. The cord is thick and feels substantial. The heater seems substantial and able to heat up a pool or bucket of water easily. Included with the heater is a digital thermometer so you don't have a reason to 'test' the water by putting fingers/hand/feet into it while the heater is plugged in. This is an IMMERSION heater. Do not use it if it is not totally immersed in water. The heat generated by the heater will 'burn out' the heater quickly if it is not totally immersed. There are plastic caps on the top and bottom of the heater to help it keep from melting the pool/bucket. This is not a toy. Pay attention to it when you are using it. Monitor the digital thermometer. When the desired heat is reached, UNPLUG the heater before removing it from the water or putting your hand/foot/fingers into the water. The reason this is not getting 5 stars is that there is no 'short circuit' protection in this device. That is why I recommended using a GFCI outlet when using the heater.
