I ordered this is because, on occasion, I spend a weekend with my parents car-camping in a remote location with no potable/filterable water source…at least within a 30 minute drive. So I must pack water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, etc. in the truck when we camp. Until now, I’ve been bringing water in the 2.5 Gallon water jugs from the grocery store and/or filling up (washed/rinsed) 1 Gal. milk jugs. This jug is more durable than the 2.5 gallon containers from the grocery store, and more portable than the milk jugs. - Based on filling a 1 gallon milk jug and pouring the water into this jug five times, the stated capacity is dead-on…as 5 milk jugs filled this jug to the brim. - It’s certainly thicker than a milk jug, and the 2.5 gallon containers from the grocery store, but still rather lightweight. - For the smaller port, it comes with a spout, and also a cap. The cap would be good for long-term water storage, but since these aren’t stackable, the pour spout is just fine. I expect the cap to get lost over time. …to which… a non-stackable design might be my only criticism with this jug…but most aren’t, so… - It comes with a little wash brush…nice touch I suppose. Also, the larger port allows my man hands to (barely) reach into the jug for washing/scrubbing…up to my lower forearm anyway. - The rubber air/vacuum-release plug on the larger port cap seals well enough…and seems simpler and more durable than the twist or cap types. - I like the army green color, but there’s no real preference here…blue indicates water…and white/opaque would show the water level better (and allow UV light in for disinfection). Regardless, a little bit of bleach or vinegar disinfects, and the remaining water is easily discernable with the weight of the jug. Also, the army green absorbs heat as the water was very warm after the jug had been sitting in the sun for an hour or so. - No leaks on either port or the spout/spigot. Also, with rubber gaskets, be sure not to over-tighten to ensure longevity of the seals. - The flex spout is a nice inclusion, as is the storage indent for it, though I’m not sure I’ll ever use the flex spout.

This is one big water jug. It has a screw-off lid with a wide opening so you can reach your hand down inside to clean it really well. It comes with a foam cleaning brush that needs to be put together that can help you get into the nooks and crannies. The lid has a vent hole which is nice, so you don't have to loosen or remove the lid to be able to dispense water. The cap for the vent hole is silicone. It has a spout for the smaller hole as well as a solid cap. This spout can be used with or without a flexible nozzle. When not in use, the flexible nozzle stores neatly in the side of the jug. The jug has two handles built in - one on the top and one on the back. This way it can be carried either vertically or horizontally and can be tipped if needed. We took this jug on our camping trip to carry water back and forth to our campsite and use with our hand washing station. The spigot has a dial valve that opens and closes gradually as it is twisted to change the water stream.
