I ordered 2 packs for my home setup. After the package arrived I unboxed and set up the foam so they can decompress from the packaging. I will say there were a few pieces during this process where it seemed extra squished, I just pinched from both sides lightly pulling them to help them expand and put them in stacks like this. But overall this product is as described, it works and if you give it the time it goes back to a normal state. It’s a good price for the amount you get if you’re on a budget and just wanting to get started, then when you get a little more money you can get a thicker foam. The quality is pretty standard for most foams, just keep in mind that the 1” is kind of thin if you need something more durable go for a 2” or 3” thickness product.

I'm not sure about the noise reduction part of it this product but it does help add a really nice accent to my walls that they were lacking previously without having to add like paint or anything. They are super easy to apply and adjust afterwards and from what I can tell they do not damage walls which is a very nice Plus for apartment living! Even having put them on two different walls I still have a handful extra left over so very good value for money.

I needed a soundproofing for the interior of my cabinet that houses instant a hot water heater. The fan noise when the heater runs reminded my wife of a mooing cow, so I wanted to soundproof the cabinet, that is easy to install. After researching a lot of soundproofing, one of the concerns that I had was have to inflate the foam by having to soak them, and put them in a dryer. Not with these! I opened the package and they were ready to use right away! They cut easily, and included plenty of the glue “spots” for installation. Really easy to work with. I would recommend this product!

I've used a wide array of acoustic foam in my home studio, and some of the compressed foam that's meant to expand sometimes doesn't grow to its full potential. Such was the case with this foam, and it's always annoying. The instructions say you can soak the foam, which is a mess and a hassle, and that's when it's just a series of foot-by-foot squares. This larger piece would have been even more irritating to soak and dry out--I certainly didn't have a good spot to do that--so I just accepted its partial expansion. Worse still, it expanded in a wavy shape, which wasn't great for adhering to a flat surface. Here is where I get impressed with this thing: I, somewhat foolishly, decided to try sticking this to the ceiling just above my drum set. I knew it was ill-advised, but I still wanted to cover that large, flat, reflective surface right by all the cymbals. Just because it isn't a wall doesn't mean it doesn't have the same acoustic properties. So I decided to use this large piece of foam there, and used all the adhesion dots it came with, plus a couple long strips of double-sided tape. While I knew the likelihood it would fall was significant, I at least wanted to try. Well, after months of both cold and very hot temperatures, it's still up there. Some of the dots gave out, and it's sagging there, waiting for me to finally remedy the situation, but the fact that ANY of them have held up the weight of this large sheet of foam against gravity and time is still very impressive. I'm sure on a normal wall, this would stay up indefinitely.
