I almost left this 4 stars because it has absolutely no assembly instructions at all. It does have a little book with it but its basically a drawing of the hoist with some general info. Nothing really useful for assembly. I did go with 5 stars because, although it's a little hassle assembling it, once its put together it is a good solid hoist. And the price is better then any I've seen especially considering it comes with a load leveler which is pretty handy when dealing with a heavy engine. I use my 4 year old hoist on diesel tractor engines, and usually all the way out at the half ton mark and I've never had a problem with it. This one is identical to my old one and I'm sure it will function the same. This comes with a card you can scan to buy an extended warrenty. I wouldn't really recommend that. The only thing that ever goes out on these is the jack and they're cheap enough to buy without the warrenty. 1 assembly tip. There is a bunch of small bolts. Most hex head, some have a screw head. The screw head ones are for the center wheels, as the 2 legs need to sit flush and the hex heads get in the way. I would REALLY recommend this hoist, even with no instructions. For review today, I’ve got the Garvee 2 Ton Folding Hydraulic Engine Hoist with Load Leveler 4400 LBS Capacity Heavy Duty Cherry Picker 6 Swivel Wheels&Hydraulic Pump Adjustable Boom (0.5T-2T) for Garage Workshop Warehouse Red Tool sizes used Large nuts - 24mm Large bolts - 22mm Small nuts - 14mm Small bolts - 12mm A P3 screwdriver I have to start off by saying that, to call what this cherry picker had done to it after manufacturing QC, would be an insult to quality control everywhere else. It looks as if tho not a soul even looked in this thing’s direction before slapping it all into the product box and sending it onto the slow boat over this direction. There are all sorts of spots that they clearly didn’t even spray paint in the general direction of and then they did dumb stuff like laying a thick layer of paint onto the hydraulic cylinder’s release valve threads. Which, btw, the pin in the release valve is too short to firmly grip both notches of the included jack handle so most of the time, unless you’re very careful, you’ll be releasing the valve using only one of the little pin sides which might lead to early breakage. There was also so much slag and splatter rattling around inside of the different tubing that my garage floor started looking like I’d been abrasive blasting without a booth. Also as soon as I removed it from the box, a small rusted screw, that has nothing to do with the assembly of this hoist, fell out of the main base’s tubing. There is something that sounds heavier than just slag rattling around the sealed tube of the main base too. So it had to have gotten welded up inside of it. The welds look about like I did them and I’ve only ever welded a handful of times in my life. I can spot weld and make something ugly that will usually hold on simpler stuff but that’s about it. Hopefully all of its welds have enough penetration to hold up to their jobs. There is also no sort of instructions at all. Luckily, anyone competent enough to be using something like this safely should have no real trouble putting it together since there are only 3 different fasteners and 2 sizes of nuts and some washers. Some of the larger bolts might very slightly vary in length but your guess is as good as mine where they intended you to use the different lengths. Any of them are long enough to go anywhere and all of them are too long to really work nicely in the few places you’d prefer some shorter ones to not have so much excess. The only thing that I feel could be pointed out to save someone some trouble is that there are 4 larger casters and 2 smaller casters. The two smaller casters go into the middle so when the long legs are locked down, the small middle ones aren’t touching the floor. They’re just used for when its legs are folded up. They didn’t give you any extra parts of the large hardware and only 1 each of the smaller hardware so make sure you don’t drop anything and let it skitter across the shop floor or else you’ll be heading to the store or spare parts bin on a hunt. The load balancing piece came preassembled in its own box inside the one larger box. There aren’t two boxes like the listing shows. There are no pins for folding of the legs like are shown in the exploded parts diagram in the paper sheet that came with the hoist or in the listing’s pictures. There are also no shorter black bolts for the cylinder as shown in one of the listing pictures. It’s just more of the same large, much too long for some of the assembly points, bolts, nuts and washers as every other large fastener used in assembly. Which if you are folding and unfolding the legs often, it’s going to be annoying needing to use a wrench on the bolt/nut every time that you do. The cylinder sounded pretty rough when compressing initially but make sure you check and add oil to it if it’s low. Mine was low, as with most hydraulic jacks that I’ve gotten before, almost no matter where I get them from or what brand they are. It’s never a bad idea to keep some jack oil with stop leak around to keep things up and pumping. Also make sure you burp the air out of it too. The extended part of the main hoist tubing is red and not black as shown in the listing. Speaking of red, there are a couple of different colors of red that they used that aren’t even close to matching. Not like slightly off from different batches but just a different red. Overall, this thing is not even close to pretty or high quality but it has the basics down well enough that it should work since they’re really hard to screw up being how this sort of thing is made from thick, heavy square tubing and metal casters. Tho even for the lower price of $210, at the time of my order, I’m not sure I’d consider this a particularly good value. More like, ok enough to get the job done if you aren’t always pushing the limits of the rating for some DIY or occasional use. If it’s something you’re going to be using every day for a living then you’d definitely want to get something better. I’m going to have to knock off some stars due to not having much of the hardware from the listing pictures or the included documentation that would have just made things better and more convenient all around and for the non existent QC. The pins for the legs would have made a nice QoL difference and the shorter cylinder bolts would have meant there are a lot less fairly sharp threading to catch on when working around it. ... show more

Okay first off this thing is heavy! That is a good sign right off the back as that means it is durable, heavy duty and stable. It was easy to put together and move around. It does a great job lifting heavy items such as our engine as I used it to install some motor mounts. It held it with ease and it’s easy to move.
