  • Great and easy maintenance wax for snowboard!
We got this for my son to do to help maintain his snowboard, and it’s so easy and gets the job done! Instantly helped repair some white spots on the board and made it overall smoother.

  • Simple to apply when out on the slopes or going out on the trails.
I didn't get around to re-waxing the tips and tails of my textured cross country skis this year, so I was working with last years wax job. We took this on our last ski day and tried it out. Now, it wasn't as good as if I actually took the time to properly hot-wax the skis - but this is expected. However, it did provide extra glide for our situation where the current wax job needed some touch up, or had worn off. It's definitely something that is going into our ski bag just in case. It's a lot easier than the paraffin candle that I keep in my bag and use in a pinch. Applying it worked fine in 25 degree weather, and the cork top smoothed out the wax layer quite well. It may need reapplying if you are going out for multiple hours or in warmer weather. It's a little soft above 25 degrees. ... show more

  • Easy peasy, even for a first timer like me.
I'm new to skate skiing, and I bought some used skis that surely needed some wax. I skied on them several times before waxing them, and I realized after waxing them how much I needed the wax! So, here was my experience. If you've even used stick deodorant, and let's hope you have, then you can do this. Seriously. Turn the bottom to lift the stick up a little bit. Then, rub some wax on the bottom of your skis. You don't have to cover the bottom of your skis when rubbing it on. That's the purpose of the cork top. After you have rubbed on some wax, then you put the cap back on and rub the cork against the bottom of your skis. You will see the wax that you rubbed on getting spread evenly across the skis. So easy! I was impressed, really. That's all there is to it. Nothing complicated. Now let me tell you my experience with them on the snow right after waxing. I waxed them in a warm house. Then, I put the skis into a pretty warm van. Then, I promptly dropped them onto the snow at maybe 15-20F. When I put my boots into the skis and tried skiing with them, they felts STICKY--like, my skis did not want to move. I thought for sure that I used the wrong wax or something. Nope! Give them literally about 3-5 minutes, and they will be working great. My hypothesis is that the wax needs to get down to temperature and harden on your skis. While soft, the wax inhibits your movement, but once down to temperature, I found that the wax worked great. When I was pushing off to the sides while skate skiing, I felt that waxed skis were SO MUCH better than unwaxed skis. Likewise, when going up hills, I felt the skis actually slid more with the wax when I was going uphill, which made the hills feel easier. My only complaint here, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that I think $19.99 for 1 stick is outrageous. Have you ever paid $19.99 for a stick of deodorant? Well, this doesn't seem that different to me, and they charge $19.99 because they can. Not a good reason, in my opinion. Still a good choice. ... show more

  • No idea how this has so many 5 stars..
I have absolutely no idea how there are so many 5 Star reviews on here for a free product. This has to be the absolute worst thing you could ever put on your board. I followed the horrible directions that came with this and to no avail! My snowboard did not glide on the snow it absolutely stuck to the snow and did the complete opposite of its purpose! And then once I finally get down a hill it’s all completely wiped off in one single run! What a load of garbage. I need a refund. ... show more

  • Easy Application, Nice Texture
I own several OutdoorMaster products (helmets, goggles, bags) and the quality is consistently high, so I assumed that this ski/board wax would work well. It does, and though the headline states that it's cross-country ski wax, the formulation is equally suitable for alpine skis (what I have) or snowboards. It glides on easily, and the cork top does a good job of providing gentle friction to warm and evenly smooth the wax over the ski surface. A couple extra cork disks are provided in case the original wears out. Rub on ski wax isn't as effective or durable as hot wax from a ski shop, but it's a quick and easy improvement while on the slopes, especially in sticky conditions like spring skiing. Out of curiosity, I rubbed and buffed the wax on a small section of a ski that no longer has any wax. Then holding the ski at a slight downward angle, I poured a few drops of water on the base where there was no wax, then watched as it rolled onto the waxed section, then off again to the remaining unwaxed section. The beads rapidly accelerated once they hit the waxed section, then dramatically slowed after leaving it. So this noticeably will enhance glide on the slopes, especially in wet conditions. And if it wears off during the day, it's easy enough to reapply right on the slopes. ... show more
