I think my garage door openers are 40 years old because my house was built in 1986. Programming instructions are pretty simple as long as you have at least average intelligence. Excellent, but needs better instructions for programming button 2 and 3

Works great and cost effective replacement for garage door remote. The instruction needs to be better for programming all three buttons. I would give 4.5 star for unclear instruction, but the product is decent so I round up in this case :) TO PROGRAM BUTTON 1 Follow instructions in the box. TO PROGRAM BUTTON 2 1. Hold 2nd and 3rd button to enter program mode. 2. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT - based on the color of your model, click the number of times on the BUTTON 2. 3. Click on either button 1 or 3. 4. Click on the learn button on garage lift 5. Now click on button 2 and it work at this point. To PROGRAM BUTTON 3 1. Hold 2nd and 3rd button to enter program mode. 2. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT - based on the color of your lift model, click the number of times on BUTTON 3. 3. Click on either button 1 or 2. 4. Click on the learn button on garage lift 5. There is an error in the instructions.

Once programmed, these remotes work just fine. HOWEVER, be aware that, at least for my Chamberlain 893 openers, the programming instructions have two errors which will prevent you from successfully programming the remote. The step where the instructions tell you to press the "learn" button once on the opener control that is permanently mounted, you actually have to press it twice. Chamberlains on-line written instructions contain the same error, but their on line video correctly says to press learn twice. One problem solved. Also, the included instructions tell you how many times to press the remote button according to the color of the learn button. My buttons did not match any of the shown options: again, the video was the key to getting the correct procedure. ... show more

These things are absolutely the best. They're inexpensive, very well made, easy to set up, have a surprising range, and were delivered the next day with Prime. Here's a helpful hint: BE SURE TO PERFORM STEP 4 (exit programming mode), it's super easy to miss, especially when using the directions to program a the first button, then thinking you can do the other buttons (or another remote) using only your incredible memory. If you do, I can almost guarantee that you'll omit step 4, then feel like a total idiot when you EVENTUALLY discover that it's not the product that's defective, it's... well, you know. :) ... show more

Easy to program and works perfectly

These replacement remotes worked exactly as intended and were easy to set up. They paired with my garage without any issues and have been simple to use day to day. That said, the build quality isn’t quite as nice as the original remotes that came with my garage door opener. They feel a bit cheaper in comparison.
