For reference I wear a 9 1/2 D for boots. There was plenty of space to orient and place the rubber in a nice spot. Because the product doesnt come with adhesive, a quick trip to home depot or lowes to pick up some shoe glue will have you set. For durability I have yet to wear these around town and get these roughed up, but the tread and thickness is similar to nike SB shoes so I would imagine that these will last just as long. ... show more

    • good product; you need to know they won't cover a whole sole
This is a good product, but you need to know that these are rectangles. They are not designed to cover a whole sole. If that's what you need, there are others out there. This product works well if you need to do a heel and a front portion, leaving a gap in the middle (or if that is acceptable to you--as it was for me doing a pair of slippers). I used it for the slippers, as it is thinner and more flexible than the product I originally purchased, which was twice as thick and much too heavy for a pair of slippers. These are more flexible because they are thinner, and will work well for a pair of slippers or light shoes or four instances in which the heel is quite worn and curved and a stiffer pair would have a harder time adhering.. They are a good quality rubber and will be fairly "grippy". ... show more

My running mechanics cause me to run through shoes in a hundred miles or so, when they should last 200, 250 miles. Thanks to Amazon, it's now easy to purchase rubber sole material and do an overnight patch job that should double the life of a pair of my running shoes. I'm delighted with the results of the initial repair: I've been in the shoes all morning and they're performing better than expected. I'll run in them later today; that will be the acid test. When reading instructions I understood glue was needed and thought it came with product. I was mistaken. The product works well once you spend more money for a good glue.

Good boots are expensive, and I wear out the soles walking. The solution involves barge cement, maybe a little shoe goo, and these soles. They are not the thickest, but very easy to work with and the price is right. Give it a try — it doesn’t matter what kind of job you do, because who cares about cosmetics on the bottom of a boot? ... show more

This is one of the worst products I have bought. Glue the rubber sole on to the sole doesn’t work. The bottom of the shoe is not even (that’s the reason we buy this product in the first place) therefore making the rubber piece attaching tightly is hard. Another issue is rubber sole when attaching to a shoe bottom, it effectively seals it therefore the glue doesn’t get dried. ... show more

These rubber sheets appear to be fairly tough, although they are thin and flexible. There was enough material to cover two heels and two soles (front half) of my dress chukkas, with one extra sheet (can redo the heels a second time in the future). They cut easily, so sizing the was not a problem. The only issue I ran into was attaching them to the soles, which is not an issue with the product itself. I started with Shoe Goo, which just wouldn't hold around the edges. When the edges have come loose I have tacked them down with Krazy Glue, which has worked fine. ... show more

I used E6000 adhesive and it worked well to repair the heels of my slippers. Easy to cut and trim, and I couldn't feel any difference. The only negative is that they leave black marks on my white bathroom tile floor, but they're easy to wipe off. EDITED 1/30/2022 After I bought the replacement black heels, I bought these clear self-adhesive pads on Amazon to prevent the black marks on my tile floor. They worked great. Problem solved!
