This was my first time using a water measurement tool. I filled five one-gallon bottle water and it hits one-gallon accurately every time. The power shuts off automatically but when not in use I flip the button cell battery upside down. You just unscrew the back cover to access it. Now I need to find one for a permanent install that doesn’t use battery. I want to see how much water is being used out of my well water. ... show more

    • Simple to use flow meter
I got this to gauge how much water I'm putting in the water tank on my boat. It's simple to use and accurate enough for my purpose. I tried it first filling a 5 gallon bucket and it read accurately. The battery it uses is a CR2032 which is easy to find for whenever it needs to be replaced and replacing the battery looks like a simple procedure. The display is large and easy to read and the orientation of the face is adjustable, so once attached the face can be rotated for easy viewing. Also, the battery cover has a small o-ring and I put a light coating of silicone grease on the o-ring to create a watertight seal.     • Accurate and Easy to Use
The media could not be loaded. These flow meters are accurate and easy to use. I bought them to monitor how many gallons of water I put in my RV so I would not overfill the freshwater tank. Because it is December and freezing outside, I won’t be able to use these flow meters until next spring, when conditions are more favorable to camping. That being said, I wanted to test them to see how accurate they were. I set the flow meter on our home’s culinary water spigot and hooked a hose up to it (the spigot is insulated and has an inside shut off. No worries about it freezing when I finish). Next, I grabbed an old empty plastic five-gallon paint bucket I use to mix small batches of concrete/post mix in and put the other end of the hose in it. I set the flow meter to “Total Mode.” Other settings are Flow Mode (gallons/minute), Average Mode (average gallons/day) and Consumption Mode (how many gallons used from the last time the meter was used). I then turned on the water. I watched the digital display as it counted up in tenths of gallons. When the flow meter read 5.0, I turned the spigot off. I was pleased to see that the five-gallon bucket was full to less than one inch from the top of the bucket and not overflowing. I repeated that procedure two more times for a total of three tests. Each time when the flow meter read 5.0 gallons, I turned the spigot off and each time the five-gallon bucket was filled within less than an inch from the top. There was no overflowing or underfilling whatsoever. Things I like about these flow meters: The fittings that connect to the spigot and hose are made of metal. It looks like brass and should hold up without cracking. The display is large and easy to see. It is not backlit but that is not important to me. Accessing the desired function was easy. To get to the desired function all that is required to gray button beneath the display for approximately 2-3 seconds then function will change to the next function. The flow meters also came with two 2032 batteries. One for each meter. I am concerned that the flow meters are made of plastic, except for the metal fittings on each end, and may not survive being dropped or mishandled. I created a video but must apologize for its bumpiness. I wanted to capture the 5-gallon bucket, hose and flow meter as it filled the bucket up to 5 gallons.     • Great For Measuring Volume Of Water
These work as advertised. The screen is a little thin. Works best in a sheltered environment that isn't exposed to the elements 24/7. Dispensed 1 gallon of water with this and then measured the volume and it was close enough for government work. Handy gadget to have if you own an RV!

The media could not be loaded. I purchased these flow meters to use with my RV. When you are adding water to the tank or flushing the black and gray tanks, you want to be pretty precise in how much water is going into the tanks. If you overflow a tank, you r day goes rapidly downhill. I have used these a couple of times and I really like them. They are simple to use and seem to be pretty accurate. They were easy to assemble (inserting a button battery) and are made with brass fittings for a leak free connection to a standard garden hose. You can zero the meter out with a long press. I love that they go to sleep if they are not being used. This should significantly increase battery life. I expect ot get years of service but if that is not the case, I will update this review. ... show more

The water flow meter feels solid with both end brass connectors, though the main body seems all plastic. It has good set of features and are easy to navigate. Rotating control panel is a good idea, it allows you to keep the display right side up no matter your outlet orientation. I came across a unique situation that I just want to share here. The inlet washer has a filter which is conical and cone facing outward. You cannot flip this filter to face the filter cone inward to flow meter because the opening is narrow. One of my yard faucet vacuum breaker has a pin in the center that hit flow meter filter and I had to take it out. A flat filter washer may be a good option. ... show more

I was really hoping that as a seemingly higher quality flow meter this would track water usage on my RO system better than the meter I had been using. For example, the old meter only registered 2 gallons usage whereas this one measured 32! Most of the time the old one wouldn't turn on because the flow rate was too low. This one specs 0.3gpm min but it appears to work down to 0.1gpm anecdotally. Price seemed a little high but included two units and the build quality is there. I'm very happy with these. Will report back if battery life is an issue but they make the battery very easy to change/swap out. I did have to tighten the connections with a small wrench as hand tight didn't seem enough for the gasket; so check for leaks. ... show more
